The Mercedes-Benz GLC350e 4Matic Coupe Nightfall Edition debuts locally with a price tag of RM442,888.
There must be something going on at Mercedes-Benz with the night, as the automaker has lately been launching quite a number of Nightfall Edition models. And the latest to get this treatment is the GLC350e 4Matic Coupe, which now joins the previously launched GLA200, GLA250 and GLC43 AMG Nightfall Edition models in the local line-up.
Priced at RM442,888, the GLC350e Coupe Nightfall Edition commands a RM17,000 premium over the ordinary “daytime” GLC350e Coupe. For that extra dough, you essentially get a whole lot of black bits on the exterior as part of what Mercedes-Benz calls the Night Package.
More specifically, this gets the Mercedes-Benz pattern grille, radiator shell louvre, beltline trim strips, window frames, side mirror housings, rear apron and diffuser finished in gloss black. The door handles also come in dark chrome, which complements the similarly blacked-out 20-inch AMG multi-spoke alloy wheels that come as part of the car’s AMG Line package.
And really, that is pretty much it for the GLC350e 4Matic Coupe Nightfall Edition. It still retains the same plug-in hybrid powertrain under the hood, pairing a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and nine-speed automatic transmission with an electric motor for a total system output of 313 hp and 550 Nm.
Being a PHEV, the GLC350e 4Matic Coupe can muster an all-electric range of over 100 km (WLTP), with electric driving possible at speeds of up to 140 km/h. Charging is handled by an 11 kW three-phase AC charger, which takes around two hours for a full charge.
On the equipment front, the GLC350e 4Matic Coupe Nightfall Edition features Digital Light projector headlamps with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, as well as a panoramic sliding glass sunroof amid all those black exterior bits. It also gets self-levelling rear air suspension and aluminium-look running boards with rubber studs.
Moving inside meanwhile, the cabin is dominated by an 11.9-inch portrait-oriented MBUX touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument display, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto also included. A Qi wireless charger and 15-speaker Burmester 3D surround sound system can be found within too, alongside a multifunction sports steering wheel and powered front seats with memory.
Finally as for those looking to get into the Nightfall Edition without having to worry about the full sticker price upfront, Mercedes-Benz is also offering its Agility+ financing plan for the new GLC350e 4Matic Coupe Nightfall Edition, with monthly repayments starting from RM 4,788.
The plan includes a fifth-year extended limited warranty under the Star Gold package, along with four Compact Service Packages. It also comes with the usual Agility+ benefits such as flexible end-of-term options and a guaranteed future value for the car.
