Toyota November Sales In Malaysia Down By 20% Year-On-Year

It has to be said though that Toyota still managed to sell 8,400 cars over here in November alone.

If a recent sales report from Toyota over here is any indication, it really does seems that the deluge of Chinese car makers has finally managed to steal a chunk away from the traditional Japanese players,

The Japanese automaker had recently posted that is sold 8,400 cars in November 2024, with its year-to-date total currently standing at ‘approximately 89,500 units’. This is in contrast to last year, where Toyota managed 10,263 sales in November, with its year-to-date total of 97,705 units then being nearly 18% higher than what it managed this year too.

Toyota has unfortunately not provided a breakdown of its sales by model this time round. It has however said though that Vios, Hilux, and Yaris were among the top contributors to its sales.

And on the topic of the Yaris meanwhile, Toyota is currently having a “Discover Joyful Exclusives” promotion ongoing this December. Customers could enjoy broad promotional savings, including discounts worth up to RM10,000 with a monthly payment from as low as RM 658 across several of its models, such as its Vios, Yaris, Corolla and Harrier to name a few.

For those perhaps interested in the newly-facelifted Corolla Cross too, there is to be an early bird promo of up to RM 3,000 running until the end of this year. Toyota is currently also pushing its Toyota Service Savers program, which offers cost-efficient maintenance options starting from just RM 31 per month.

Now on to something little to do with cars meanwhile, UMW Toyota had also recently hosted the annual Toyota Skill Contest 2024 from 16 – 17 November 2024 at its Shah Alam headquarters, underscoring its heritage of nurturing excellence since 1993. With the 2024 theme “Customer Delight Through Quality Sales and Services,” the contest aimed to elevate trust and loyalty among customers by promoting exceptional skills and knowledge among dealer staffs across sales and services roles, reinforcing Toyota’s commitment to continuous improvement and delivering outstanding customer experiences.

The two-day contest showcased Toyota’s dedication to excellence, highlighting the Toyota Technical Education Program (T-TEP) and the company’s commitment to carbon neutrality through its multi-pathway approach. Cash prizes exceeding RM 100,000 were awarded to winners across 10 categories.
