This Nissan Hyper Adventure concept even has an boot-lip bench seat for its owners to better be in touch with nature.
Nissan has recently revealed its second concept that it intends to debut at the upcoming Japan Mobility Show. Dubbed the Hyper Adventure, the Japanese automaker has touted for this particular concept SUV to be designed specifically for ‘people passionate about outdoor adventures and an eco-friendly lifestyle‘.
And credit where credit is due, the Hyper Adventure does surely have the adventure-y kit to back up Nissan’s claims. Its wheels and bumpers for instance are apparently outfitted with crampons, in order to enable this concept SUV to drive through snowy terrain with ease.
Another interesting addition to this concept too is a rear bench that can rotate 180º on an axle, such that it creates a Range Rover-esque outdoor seating area from the tailgate. A set of steps apparently also extend and retract automatically from the rear, which Nissan claims will make it easier to put on one’s ski boots, or simply reach into the cavernous cargo area that itself is apparently big enough to swallow a kayak.
The Hyper Adventure supposedly features what looks like bungee cords on the seat bases, not to mention a wraparound instrument panel that connects to the bottom of its windshield as well. Looking like a more stylised version of what is currently found in Honda’s e, this feature has been touted by Nissan to seamlessly connect the space inside and outside the car, and in turn make as if the body of the vehicle is transparent.
Though in terms of making the vehicle’s seem transparent, the large glass roof and massive side windows that run right across the side of the Hyper Adventure perhaps play a more influential part. Nissan has also further reiterated the adventure-y aspect of this concept by stating for it to feature ‘dynamic body panels that express activity, thanks to the distinctive diagonal line on the side of the vehicle that accentuates the spacious cabin within’.
With this being a concept, Nissan has unfortunately not stated any specifics regarding the propulsion system for the Hyper Adventure. What is nevertheless known though is for this all-electric SUV to feature the Japanese automaker’s e-4ORCE all-wheel drive system, such that prospective adventurers can traverse over ‘a snowy mountain pass or the muddy trail of a lush rainforest smoothly, safely and in style’
This concept SUV has also been confirmed to feature V2X (vehicle-to-everything) capability, which sees for its ‘large capacity battery’ double as an energy source to ‘power up their gadgets, light up campsites, or even recharge their electric jet skis’. In fact, Nissan touts for it to even be capable of providing power to homes (V2H) or a local community by contributing surplus power to the grid (V2G).
It remains to be seen however as to when exactly the Hyper Adventure would be capable of those things in real life, as it is all but likely for this concept to remain as such for the foreseeable future. Having said that, the current car camping boom has caused the market for adventure-y off-roaders to be surging in recent years. So there might be a case yet for Nissan to put something similar into production some time soon.

Whether it’s a weekend jaunt to the local mountains or a months-long journey to a remote locale, the Nissan Hyper Adventure’s primary objective is to accommodate the outdoorsperson’s diverse needs. Its large-capacity battery doubles as an energy source, allowing users to power up their gadgets, light up campsites, or even recharge their electric jet skis. Its V2X (vehicle-to-everything) capability can also provide power to homes (V2H) or a local community by contributing surplus power to the grid (V2G).
When traveling over a snowy mountain pass or the muddy trail of a lush rainforest, Nissan’s advanced e-4ORCE all-wheel-control system helps ensure that travellers reach their destinations smoothly, safely, and in style.
The exterior features dynamic body panels that express activity, thanks to the distinctive diagonal line on the side of the vehicle that accentuates the spacious cabin within. By redirecting the air flowing through the front spoiler, the car can achieve high aerodynamic performance. The aerodynamics are further enhanced by glass that integrates the roof and side windows and the flush surface of the rear end. The wheels and front and rear bumpers are outfitted with crampons, or snow traction gears, to allow the car to drive through snowy areas with power and ease.
The interior’s unique features and cabin space are designed to make driving in all situations easy and comfortable. The instrument panel connects to the bottom of the windshield, serving as a screen with a wide field of view – as if the body of the vehicle is transparent – and seamlessly connects the space inside and outside the car. The interior also boasts cargo space for outdoor equipment such as tents, skis, or even a kayak. The rear bench seat is distinctive, as it can rotate 180 degrees on an axle and create a comfortable sitting area that faces out of the vehicle’s rear. This feature, that includes automatic extendable and retractable steps, comes in handy when camping, getting ready for a day of skiing, or taking in a scenic view.
The Nissan Hyper Adventure concept is designed to support a wide range of outdoor adventures comfortably, safely and with a good supply of energy.
