Mustang Club Malaysia Sets Mustang Gathering Record

A total of 137 Ford Mustangs of all ages gathered to break this record.

The Mustang Club Malaysia has set a new national record for the largest gathering of Ford Mustangs in the country. A total of 137 of these American pony cars and their owners set this new national record at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur last weekend on the 27th of September.

Mustangs of all ages and personalisation were a part of this record-setting attempt that was officially certified by the Malaysia Book of Records. A certificate of recognition was presented to the president of the Mustang Club Malaysia, Alfred C.K. Joseph by Malaysia Book of Records’ Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Christopher Wong during the event.

Although a majority of the 137 Mustangs present for the record were the latest iteration that was officially brought in by Ford Malaysia, a few classic Mustangs were also present in this momentous occasion for the club. Including a very tasty looking highland green classic Mustang Fastback, reminiscent to the iconic Mustang in the movie Bullitt featuring Steve McQueen.

Formed in 2018, the Mustang Club Malaysia currently has 245 members nationwide. The formation of this club was to share information regarding the new Mustang, in addition to promoting safe and responsible driving habits while out on the road in these high-powered American muscle cars. Furthermore, the club provides a platform for enthusiasts of this iconic Ford to ‘embrace and build comradeship through a common interest.’

Seeing all these Mustangs gathered in the heart of KL surely is a sight to behold for not just any car enthusiast, but to anyone on the street. One of these loud, brash slice of America is already enough to stand out among the mainly boring and usually grey KL traffic-scape, so with 137 of them concentrated in one place must have been an overwhelming treat for the senses of any petrolhead. Especially when there is an underlying V8 burble in the background.
