Pre-Bookings Now Open In Malaysia For The BMW iX2 xDrive30

This new all-electric BMW Sports Activity Coupe is set to land locally costing RM 297,000.

BMW Malaysia has recently announced that it has commenced pre-booking for its new iX2. The first time an all-electric version of this compact Sports Activity Coupe is to be offered over here, this particular EV will be launching locally in a sole xDrive30 guise.

Now as the xDrive in its variant name suggests, this particular all-electric version of the fuel burning second-generation BMW X2 arrives with one electric motor per axle. Combined power output from the pair is rated at 313 hp and 494 Nm of torque, which is in turn sufficient to see it achieve the century sprint in just 5.6 seconds, before carrying onwards to an electronically limited top-speed of 180 km/h.

In further attempting to justify the sport in Sports Activity Coupe too, the iX2 comes with upgraded stabiliser bearings on the front spring-strut axle and a multi-link rear axle for better steering precision and roll stability. It also has standard actuator-like anti-roll bars, Adaptive M Suspension, M Sport Steering, M Sport Brakes and a SPORT My Mode, to give drivers increased driving dynamics potential.

Those who don’t intend to drive the wheels of this iX2 however will instead be capable of going a reasonable distance on a single charge, with BMW after all touting a WLTP-claimed range of 449 km from its 66.5 kWh high-voltage battery. DC charging power for the pack is capped at reasonable 130 kW, to yield a 10 – 80% charge in under half an hour. AC charging power on the other hand is up to only 11 kW, which sees a full 0-100% charge take 6.5 hours.

Touching now on its exterior aesthetics, the all-electric iX2 nets a redesigned closed BMW kidney grille with a black mesh grille and black high-gloss (and illuminated) kidney frame up front, that is then flanked by adaptive LED headlights with BMW Selective beam. The sloping roofline of this SUV-coupe meanwhile is further complemented by M high-gloss Shadow line, V-spoke style 873 M Bicolour 20-inch M light alloy wheels and flush door handles. And as for its curved rump, standard LED taillights are joined by a distinctive high-gloss black rear spoiler and a chunky rear bumper.

The cockpit of the iX2 xDrive30 spotlights the BMW Curved Display, which consists of a 10.25-inch instrument display and 10.7-inch central infotainment screen running BMW Operating System 9. Other tech toys to be found within meanwhile includes a full-colour head-up display, wireless charging tray with a built-in cooling system, an integrated control panel in its front armrest, a Harman Kardon Hi-Fi speaker system in addition to a comprehensive suite of active driver aids that come under the banners of Active Guard Basis, Driving Assistant Plus and Parking Assistant Plus.

Completing the elegance of the interior are an M multifunction leather steering wheel, Aluminium Hexacube Pale M interior trim, the Luxury instrument panel, as well as high quality “Veganza” leather-alternative upholstery with contrast stitching. Sports seats are standard up front, while the rears feature a 40:20:40 variable split folding capability.

The BMW iX2 xDrive30 is available in a range of exterior colour offerings, including Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Skyscraper Grey, Cape York Green, Fire Red, M Portimau Blue, and M Brooklyn Grey. Upholstery options available for the First-Ever BMW iX2 xDrive30 include “Veganza” leather-alternative in M Alcantara (Black) with Contrast Stitching Blue, Perforated Black, Perforated Coral Red/Black, Perforated Atlas Grey/Smoke White, and Perforated Mocha.

Pricing for the iX2 xDrive30 starts from RM282,800, but that is with only a two year warranty package. The BMW Service and Repair Inclusive package with the full five-year warranty and service package on the other hand is an extra RM14,200, which brings the total of this sports activity coupe to RM297,000.

With the Easy Drive Financing Plan from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia, the First-Ever BMW iX2 xDrive30 can be owned with a monthly instalment plan starting from RM 3,662.00 (based on 5-year Easy Drive plan with a mileage of 100,000 km at 80% loan amount). Additionally, customers can also benefit from a RM 4,000.00 Easy Drive Cash Rebate upon registering for the Easy Drive Financing.

With the Straight Line Financing Plan from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia, the First-Ever BMW iX2 xDrive30 can be owned with a monthly instalment plan starting from RM 3,331.00 (based on estimates of 80% loan amount on a 7-year tenure).

Benjamin Nagel, Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia said, “At the BMW Group, we are constantly in the pursuit of enhancing our offerings as we deliver Sheer Electric Driving Pleasure.
