Zeekr 7X Electric SUV From RM179k Challenges BYD Seal At RM171k

Zeekr Intelligent Technology (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (“Zeekr Malaysia”) has just unveiled the Zeekr 7X and it comes in three variants, the RWD Standard, RWD Long Range, and the top-of-the-line AWD Performance.

All variants vehicle’s 800V architecture system allows for ultra-fast charging, reaching charging speeds of up to 450kW.

This 7X SUV boasts of an acceleration speed of 0-100km/h in just 3.8 seconds which is right next to the BYD Seal acceleration time.

The 7X comes equipped with intelligent cabin technologies and advanced safety systems ensuring drivers and their loved ones a serene experience with absolute peace of mind.

Designed in Gothenburg, Sweden under the visionary design of Stefan Sielaff (pictured below), the Zeekr 7X redefines the luxury SUV segment with its Hidden Energy design philosophy, 0.618 golden body ratio, and segment-leading aerodynamic profile. Its 93-inch Stargate Integrated Smart Light Curtain, frameless doors, and floating roofline create a silhouette that is both futuristic and refined.

Outside, the Integrated Smart Light Curtain is a ZEEKR Original Design and is the world’s largest giant light strip with its 93-inch ultra large display offering a three-dimensional, richer and clearer image.

There are exactly 1,831 high-power LED beads, allowing for more than ten customizable front designs and light languages, Meanwhile, inside, the entire vehicle is adorned with ripple effect ambient lighting stretching 4,673mm with 256 true RGB colours. Featuring 11 light zones, it provides three-dimensional illumination throughout the cabin for a refined sense of understated luxury.

The 7X’s interior offers a sanctuary of intelligent luxury, with NAPPA leather seats (AWD Performance only), powered driver and passenger seats, and electric rear window sunshades.

The Zeekr 7X boasts of a huge panoramic sunroof that measures 1.84m2 without any centre beam, which is protected with a UV-protective electric sunroof shade (largest in its segment), with an area of 1.35m2.

The sunshade offers almost 100% UV and heat insulation, ensuring worry-free travel during our hot Malaysian weather. It also features one-touch electric operation for added elegance and convenience.

Anchored by the Qualcomm 8295 intelligent computing platform which delivers seamless performance across its digital interfaces, the immersive cockpit features a 36-inch AR-HUD and a 16-inch 3.5K mini–LED central display, offering crystal-clear visuals and intuitive control.

Sound is elevated through the 2160W powered 21-speaker ZEEKR Sound Pro system, creating a concert-hall experience on the move. Passengers will be able to enjoy all of this with ergonomically designed seats which offer massage, memory and ventilation functions. Rear seats in the Zeekr 7X also afford powered recline adjustments of up to 10 degrees.

Meanwhile, dual 50W wireless chargers and 36 smart storage spaces ensure passengers would have everything they need within reach.

Every Zeekr 7X variant is meticulously engineered to deliver a dynamic driving experience tailored to diverse lifestyles. The RWD Standard offers a blend of efficiency and responsiveness, powered by a 75kWh second-generation Golden Brick Battery and a rear-mounted motor delivering 310kW and 440Nm of torque for 480km range (WLTP), while the RWD Long Range variant extends capabilities with a 100kWh Qilin Battery, offering up to 615km of range (WLTP).

At the pinnacle of the lineup, the AWD Performance model unleashes dual-motor all-wheel drive with 475kW and 710Nm of torque. Enhanced with Akebono brake callipers and Zeekr’s Magic Carpet advanced air suspension and Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD) system, the 7X delivers precision handling and elevated comfort even when off-road – ensuring every drive is as precise as it is powerful, delivering performance without compromise.

Every Zeekr is engineered with Zeekr DNA Safety Standards that go well above industry average. And the 7X is no different with its comprehensive 720-degree safety armour. Featuring a 12-meter ultra-high strength steel, the vehicle’s dome-shaped body structure enhances torsional rigidity by 35%, ensuring superior stability and crash resilience. The vehicle also incorporates a single-piece die-cast aluminium rear body and a one-piece hot-formed pipe beam to optimize structural integrity. Certified with a EURO NCAP.

5-star safety rating, the Zeekr 7X sets a new benchmark in occupant protection, reinforced by its more than 40 extreme crash test scenarios.

At the heart of the Zeekr 7X is an advanced battery protection system with Non-Thermal Propagation (NTP) technology, offering multi-layer protection to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance. The battery is further safeguarded by a 10-grid battery shield, specifically engineered to defend against side impacts.

These innovations are complemented by a comprehensive suite of active and passive safety systems, including seven airbags, 360-degree surround camera, as well as the Driver Monitoring System (DMS) and Occupant Monitoring System (OMS), which are part of the vehicle’s advanced safety and intelligent cockpit features. The DMS includes a driver status monitoring using eye-tracking to detect distraction fatigue or microsleep incidences. Meanwhile the OMS is located at the B pillar enabling the driver to keep an eye on their child in the rear seat when driving alone, thus minimizing driver distraction and ensuing peace of mind. The vehicle can also alert the driver if an infant or child is left unattended in the vehicle.

The 7X also features L2.5 ADAS intelligent driver assistance technologies including a segment-leading Automatic Lane Change with Turn Signal input, Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Centering Control, Lane Keeping Assist, AEB Forward Collision Warning and Mitigation, Door Open Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Hands Off Detection, and Automated Parking Assist.

Most notably, the Zeekr 7X is the world’s first EV to receive dual electromagnetic (EM) safety certification, setting a new benchmark for passenger protection against EM radiation – truly redefining health and safety in the electric era.

To make the transition to EV more seamless, the owner’s privilege package also comes with a 22kW wallbox charger and free solar tinting, making the switch to electric mobility as smooth as possible.

There are four exterior colours to choose from: Crystal White, Onyx Black, Tech Grey, Forest Green, and one interior Black option. The AWD Performance offers an additional exterior colour option at an added cost: the dual-toned Brook Blue which comes with a Silver Roof, and an interior colour option of Purple and White. It also offers the option of a 21-inch forged wheel option, at added cost.
