Toyota Corolla Cross GR Sport Arriving Here Very SOON

The Corolla Cross gets a GR Sport version to join its sports car siblings.

Toyota has already launched two very capable and exciting GR tuned vehicles and now comes another GR Sport vehicle, but this time it is a very popular SUV that is getting the GR sporty appearance.

Yes, for this SUV, there will only be GR enhanced looks courtesy of black-colour matched exterior bits and some GR inspired modifications. Just like a decade plus ago when they introduced TRD versions of the Vios and Hilux which only came with TRD exterior and handling bits.

Interestingly, this Corolla Cross GR Sport has already been launched in Taiwan and Thailand and now it is ready for our market.

To be more precise about the exterior modds, the GR Sport bits will start with a black-colored roof, black side mirrors, and even its tail-lamps which will be a black tint to enhance a sporty look. This very popular SUV will probably ride on a set of Gazoo Racing 18-inch alloy wheels with a two-tone color scheme.

Corolla remains the world’s best-selling automotive nameplate, with more than 50 million global sales across 55 years and 12 generations.

To provide a better handling, this Corolla Cross GR Sport will offer better handling with a set of tuned shock absorbers and springs.

Meanwhile, the body of this GR Sport version will also stiffer than the normal Corolla Cross with the addition of a lower strut bar.

Interestingly, there will be no upgrades to the reliable 1.8-liter inline-4 DOHC hybrid engine which comes paired with an intelligent continuously variable transmission (e-CVT), which then sends power to the front wheels. This engine produces a combined output of 120 horsepower and 142 Nm of torque.

This GR Sport Corolla Cross might get some interior upgrades like the GR logos on its headrests and on its push-to-start button. Its comfortable seats might also come with silver-colored accent stitching and the instrument panel will be decorated with a piano black trim piece.
