The Isuzu D-Max X-Terrain gets an update

When it comes to pickup trucks in Malaysia, the choices are quite clear. It’s either the Isuzu D-Max X-Terrain, Toyota Hilux or Ford Ranger. However, the Isuzu D-Max seems to stay on stop of the segment thanks to its equipment, looks and technology.

Since its launch in 2021, the Isuzu D-Max X-Terrain has already won five ‘Pick-Up Truck of the Year’ awards and had over a few thousand bookings in the country.

“The new-generation Isuzu D-Max remains our source of pride as it bridges the gap between how pick-up trucks should perform and what customers desire. The flagship D-Max X-Terrain in particular sought to ensure customers enjoyed some truly stand-out features that make their motoring safer and more pleasurable,” said Isuzu Malaysia’s Chief Executive Officer Shunsuke Okazoe.

Fast forward to now, Isuzu has updated their flagship pick-up with some new features and colours to cater towards more customers. Alongside its signature Valencia Orange and Sapphire Blue, the D-Max is now available in Silky Pearl White and Onyx Black for a sportier look.

Additionally, this update brings a new Around-View Monitor that gives the driver a 360 degrees view. It also comes with a bird’s eye view when reverse gear is selected as well as a selectable 3D guide in the 9-inch display.

Next is the Qi wireless charging station located above the gear selector. It is compatible to most phones and will be a useful feature for those who want to use their phone for music, navigation and more. A welcome light has also been added underneath the vehicle for a better view of your footwear. This was a popular customer request.

The updated Isuzu D-Max also comes with exclusive lighted scuff plates that not only help protect the sills from minor scratches, it offers an added touch of elegance to the stylish vehicle.

“The popularity of the Isuzu D-Max range, particularly the X-Terrain variant remains healthy with many first-time owners reveling in life with a modern pick-up truck. Its inspiring safety, comfort and go-anywhere, do-anything versatility has led to a gradual migration of saloon car owners. I believe that with these new added features and colour choices, the D-Max X-Terrain will continue to appeal to many more who will be tempted to convert,” added Chief Operating Officer Kenkichi Sogo.

The Isuzu D-Max X-Terrain is powered by a 1.9-litre engine with all-wheel drive paired to a six-speed automatic gearbox. This engine outputs 150PS and 350Nm of torque. The Isuzu D-Max X-Terrain is available for booking at any authorized Isuzu showrooms with deliveries beginning in July. Its priced at RM146,938.40 on-the-road without roadtax.
