TQ Wuling Bingo Lands Locally Costing From RM 67,800

The first 500 buyers of the new TQ Wuling Bingo all-electric hatchback will further net a rebate of RM 5,000.
For those shopping for a new EV at Myvi money, the Proton e.MAS 5 is no longer the only game in town. Such is as TQ Wuling has just joined the fray, with its Bingo officially landing in Malaysia priced from RM 67,800.

This debut model from the Chinese marque over here will be offered in two variants: Pro at RM67,800 and Max at RM72,800. Early birds could further benefit from a RM 5,000 rebate for the first 500 buyers, which brings prices down to RM62,800 for the Pro and RM67,800 for the Max.
These first 500 customers will also receive an eight-year/120,000 km EV battery warranty, an eight-year/160,000 km drive motor warranty, a complimentary 7 kW home charger, a free three-pin portable charger, solar window tint, and 17 insurance benefits with EV coverage. TQ Wuling claims the combined value of these incentives exceeds RM 12,000.

Now onto the car itself, measuring 3,950 mm long, 1,708 mm wide and 1,580 mm tall, with a 2,560 mm wheelbase, the Bingo matches the Proton e.MAS 5 in height and wheelbase, but is 185 mm shorter and 97 mm narrower overall. Styling meanwhile is decidedly blobby and cute, highlighted by an ‘X’ lighting signature at both the front and rear with LED units, while flower-shaped hubcaps sit atop 15-inch steel wheels.

Those 15-inch wheels are to be driven by a front-mounted electric motor producing 68 PS and 150 Nm for both variants. Where the Pro and Max differ is in battery size, with the Pro packing a 31.9 kWh LFP battery and the Max a larger 37.9 kWh unit. This translates to CLTC-rated ranges of 333 km and 410 km respectively.
Charging capabilities are nevertheless identical across both variants. DC charging tops out at 50 kW, enabling a 30–80% top-up in under 35 minutes, while AC charging is rated at up to 7 kW, taking around 4.5 hours for a full charge in the Pro and 5.5 hours in the Max.

Step inside and the Bingo mirrors the Ora Good Cat’s cutesy, retro-chic aesthetic, featuring a two-tone brown-beige interior with chrome accents and twin 10.25-inch screens. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support come standard, complemented by two USB ports and a four-speaker audio setup.
And while on the topic of 4, what you incidentally also only get four of in the Bingo are seatbelts, with this EV only capable of (legally) carrying just two in the rear. Boot capacity in turn stands at 395 litres, expanding to 1,240 litres with the 50:50 split rear seats folded. There is no frunk available up front.

Equipment-wise, there is little to separate the Pro and Max. Standard kit includes keyless entry, power-folding wing mirrors, tilt-only steering adjustment, perforated leatherette upholstery, a six-way powered driver’s seat, and a one-touch up/down driver’s window. Active driver aids are notably absent, though passive cruise control and six airbags are fitted.
Colour options consist of Neon Blue, Milky White and Lavender Purple, with the latter exclusive to the Max variant. All versions come with a contrasting black roof. Notably, the TQ Wuling Bingo is among the first EVs to be locally assembled in Malaysia, currently rolling off the Tan Chong plant in Segambut.
