Mercedes AMG GT 63 S is worth 2 other AMG vehicles

Is it worth it? The AMG GT 63 S has a huge price premium over its rivals and we wonder if the premium is just hype or not? In Malaysia this Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4Matic+ has just been launched and it is priced at RM1,798,888, on-the-road without insurance.

Well, it is the most powerful production Mercedes money can buy outside of the 1,000-horsepower Project One hypercar. It delivers an awesome 630hp and 900Nm of torque channeled to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic gearbox that allows the driver to go from 0-100km/h in just 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 315km/h.

It is both a performance car and a luxury GT and it carries the interior of the Mercedes CLS. But we think its asking price of almost RM1.8 million is too high and we instead will purchase a Mercedes-AMG GLC 63 S Coupe 4Matic+ at RM933,888 that produces 510hp and 700Nm of torque to delivers a 0-100km/h run in 3.8 seconds (which is just 0.6 seconds slower in a Crossover body) and we will still have enough money left over to buy a Mercedes-AMG C63 S Edition 1 for RM700,000 that produces 510hp and 700 Nm of torque to deliver a 0-100km/h run in only 4 seconds.

So, RM933,888 + RM700,000 totals only RM1,633,000 leaving us with a balance of RM165,000 for some additional tuning on both our AMG cars to challenge the AMG GT 63 S power and also 5-years of road tax and insurance for both cars.

What do you think? Makes sense?
