Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV Goes Public Ahead Of Its February Debut

The e.MAS 7 PHEV is slated to arrive with an estimated price tag of between RM 100,000 to RM 130,000.
The upcoming Proton e.MAS 7 PHEV has certainly already stirred plenty of interest since bookings opened, but until now, most Malaysians would have only seen Proton’s first-ever plug-in hybrid through early media previews and second-hand impressions. That is soon about to change though, as PRO-NET prepares to bring the Malaysian marque’s first PHEV to the public with its first proper showcase, timed to coincide with the Chinese New Year festive period.
The soon-to-be-launched e.MAS 7 PHEV is currently previewed at the Chinese New Year Spring Carnival with Mango Media, running from 15 to 25 January 2026 at Piazza, Pavilion Bukit Jalil. Spanning 11 days, the event marks one of the earliest opportunities for the public to get up close and personal with Proton’s latest electrified SUV up close since order books opened.

And just to add a bit of festive flavour to the display, PRO-NET is also running its “Snap, Share & Win” contest, giving visitors a chance to walk away with one of their EVs simply by engaging with the showcase. To enter, participants only need to snap a photo with the e.MAS 7 PHEV at the venue and post it on their personal Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook account. The post must tag Proton e.MAS Official and Proton e.MAS Cars, along with the campaign hashtag #eMAS7PHEVPower.
To qualify for the grand prize meanwhile, participants will also need to place a booking for the e.MAS 7 PHEV at any authorised Proton e.MAS dealership. One eligible participant who meets all requirements will win a e.MAS 5 Prime. If the selected winner has not made a booking for the e.MAS 7 PHEV though, a consolation prize of RM 1,000 will instead be credited via Touch ’n Go eWallet. The winner is set to be announced in late February 2026.

Those keen to get in early can currently place a booking for the e.MAS 7 PHEV, with a RM 99 booking fee. Registrations can be made via the official Proton e.MAS website or directly at authorised Proton e.MAS dealerships nationwide. Early birds will enjoy a RM 500 rebate on the booking fee, although this offer is limited to the first 5,000 successful registrations and subject to terms and conditions.

Now as for those who may still be unfamiliar with what the e.MAS 7 PHEV actually offers on the other hand, the long and short of it is for this model to essentially be the internal combustion-equipped counterpart to the fully electric e.MAS 7. Under its bonnet sits a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 99 PS and 125 Nm, paired with a front-mounted electric motor rated at 218 PS and 262 Nm. Together, the system delivers a combined output of 262 PS and 262 Nm, with drive sent to the front wheels.
The e.MAS 7 PHEV will be offered in three variants: Prime, Premium, and Premium Plus. Both the Prime and Premium variants are to be fitted fitted with an 18.4-kWh CATL LFP battery, providing an EV-only range of up to 83 km and a combined driving range of up to 1,000 km. DC fast charging is in turn supported at up to 30 kW, allowing a 30–80% charge in under 20 minutes.
At the top of the range tough, the Premium Plus ups the electrical hardware with a larger 29.8-kWh Geely Aegis short blade LFP battery. This extends its EV-only range to up to 146 km, and pushes the combined range to 1,065 km. DC charging capability is also doubled to 60 kW with the flagship spec, cutting the 30–80% charging time to under 16 minutes.

Proton has previously touted that its upcoming e.MAS 7 will debut with estimated price range of RM 110,000 to RM 130,000, thereby shaping it up to be one of the more accessible plug-in hybrid SUVs in the local market. Its official launch is expected to take place in February 2026, with customer deliveries to follow shortly after.
