The refreshed Modenas street bike adds all new colours and graphic designs.
Following the recent revision of the Modenas Pulsar RS200, the Malaysian motorcycle manufacturer has since announced that these updated street bikes can now be purchased at selected dealerships nationwide.
Initially launched in 2017, the 2021 update for this Modenas street bike brings with it a selection of new colours in the form of Pearl Metallic White and Pewter Grey in gloss, and matte Burnt Red. White alloy wheels and carbon-fibre effect stickers for the front and rear fenders also make an appearance on this revised RS200, as does a Pulsar logo that is stamped onto the seat cover.
As for the oily bits of this Pulsar RS200, they remain virtually unchanged from before. This therefore means that this Modenas is still fitted with a liquid-cooled, four-valve, triple-spark plug, SOHC 199.5 cc single-cylinder that outputs a maximum of 24.5 PS and 18.6 Nm of torque at 9,750 rpm and 8,000 rpm respectively. A six-speed transmission and a 13-litre fuel tank is also retained.
Moving onto the brakes of the Pulsar RS200, the Modenas still maintains its first-in-segment standard fit single-channel ABS braking system, with a 300 mm single brake disc up front and a 230 mm unit at the back. Suspension meanwhile on the bike is still the responsibility of the same telescopic forks up front and an preload-adjustable Nitrox monoshock out back.
Assembled at the Modenas manufacturing facility in Gurun, Kedah, the Pulsar RS200 retails for RM 9,990 (without insurance and road tax). A price that works out to be a cool RM 1,000+ cheaper than what is used to retail for when it first launched four years ago.
