Mitsubishi Xforce Soon To Be Open For Bookings In Malaysia

Order books for this compact Mitsubishi SUV will open in early February.
While it is not uncommon for automakers to tease their next big thing with a booking announcement, it is admittedly a little unusual for them to tease the booking announcement itself. But that is exactly what is happening here, as Mitsubishi has just revealed that it will soon be opening the order books for its all-new Xforce compact SUV in early February.

Having already been spotted undisguised while being unloaded from a lorry at an undisclosed location, it should come as little surprise that the Xforce’s local debut is now just around the corner. And ahead of its official launch, Mitsubishi has just opened the Register of Interest for its imminent small SUV, allowing potential buyers to be among the first to receive updates and exclusive previews of the upcoming model.
Customers who register their interest will enjoy:
- Exclusive product updates and announcements
- Invitations to roadshows and launch-related experiences
- Access to early-bird notifications

As part of its pre-launch activities, the Mitsubishi Xforce will also embark on a nationwide roving truck activation starting 16 January 2026, making stops at selected regions and locations across Malaysia.
| No | Dates | Location | Time |
| 1 | 16-29 January 2026 | Kuala Lumpur and Selangor | 10.00 AM – 7.00 PM |
| 2 | 5-15 February 2026 | Penang, Perak and Johor | |
| 3 | 1-15 March 2026 | Kuantan, Kelantan, Kuala Lumpur and Selangor |

Now for those still unfamiliar with the name, the Xforce is Mitsubishi’s answer to the Honda HR-V and Proton X50 in this increasingly crowded small SUV segment.
Effectively taking over the role once filled by the ASX more than a decade ago, the Xforce adopts a muscular, boxy silhouette. Up front, it features the latest iteration of Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield fascia, flanked by horizontal T-shaped LED headlights. This lighting signature continues at the rear, while along the sides, a floating roof treatment and pronounced wheel arches frame polished alloy wheels measuring up to 18 inches in diameter.

Inside, the Xforce continues with a modern, straight-edged dashboard layout, highlighted by an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster paired with a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other reported highlights include an eight-speaker Dynamic Sound Yamaha Premium audio system, as well as a powered tailgate with hands-free access.

Under the bonnet, the Xforce is rumoured to be powered by a familiar 1.5-litre naturally aspirated MIVEC four-cylinder engine shared with the Xpander MPV, with which it also shares its underlying platform. Output figures are expected to mirror the MPV’s 105 PS and 141 Nm, though the Xforce differs by pairing the engine to a CVT, driving the front wheels instead of a four-speed automatic.

Despite being front-wheel drive too, the Xforce still channels some of Mitsubishi’s off-road DNA by featuring the brand’s Active Yaw Control (AYC) system and four selectable driving modes: Normal, Wet, Gravel and Mud. Safety is also expected to be a strong point, with six airbags and a suite of active driver assistance systems likely to be standard, alongside a five-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating already achieved overseas.

Official pricing will only be announced closer to launch, but expectations currently place the Xforce in the RM 100,000 to RM 120,000 range. Also worth noting is the availability of a hybrid variant in Thailand, which could prove to be a compelling addition for Malaysia should Mitsubishi decide to introduce it, especially as competition from electrified rivals such as the Chery Tiggo 7 CSH and Honda HR-V e:HEV continues to intensify.
