Proton e.MAS Sets New Monthly Sale Record Selling 6000 Units

Proton e.MAS achieved its strongest monthly performance since launch in August, surpassing 6,000 units sold with a total of 6,047 vehicles. The achievement comes just 20 months after the launch of the Proton e.MAS 7 on 16 December 2024, making Proton e.MAS the fastest xEV brand in Malaysia to surpass 6,000 units sold in a single month.

The milestone includes 5,999 domestic registrations and further reinforces Proton e.MAS’ position as Malaysia’s No. 1 EV brand. The achievement also reflects the rapidly accelerating acceptance for electrified mobility among Malaysians with an average of one Proton e.MAS registered every seven minutes throughout August.

The performance was driven overwhelmingly be the Proton e.MAS 5, which accounted for 4,770 units, or nearly 80 per cent of the domestic registrations. The e.MAS 7 and e.MAS 7 PHEV also continued to see robust demand, recording 613 and 616 domestic registrations respectively.

Demand for Proton e.MAS also continued to broaden across the country. Selangor accounted for 51 per cent of total domestic sales, followed by Johor and Penang. Together, these three states states contributed 71 per cent of Proton e.MAS’ domestic sales in August, highlighting strong demand across both Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia.

With 27,402 vehicles registered domestically in the first eight months of 2026, Proton e.MAS has also recorded 453 export units across to Nepal, Trinidad & Tobago, Singapore and Mauritius, bringing total year-to-date sales to 27,855 vehicles.

An Expanding Support Network

The strong domestic performance was supported by the continued expansion of the Proton e.MAS retail and aftersales network, which now consists of 60 dealerships, 46 service centres and 10 body & paint Centres across Malaysia. This represents significant growth over the past year, with the network expanding from 36 dealerships and 29 service centres as at 31 August 2025.

This growing ecosystem reflects PRO-NET’s vision “To Become New Energy Ecosystem Automotive Solutions Leader”, with the company focused on building an integrated ownership ecosystem that extends beyond the vehicle itself.

Currently, 103 DC Fast Chargers are available at selected dealerships nationwide, while the Integrated Live Charging Map, available in all e.MAS vehicles and through the e.MAS app, provides access to more than 4,700 charging points nationwide, including more than 1,500 charging points across over 600 high-rise residences.

By expanding access to sales, aftersales and charging infrastructure alongside its growing vehicle portfolio, PRO-NET is building a more comprehensive ecosystem designed to support customers throughout their electrified mobility journey.

Developing Malaysia’s EV Expertise

As Proton e.MAS continues to accelerate the adoption of electrified mobility, PRO-NET is also investing in the people and expertise needed to support the industry’s long-term growth in Malaysia.

This commitment begins with the inaugural Aftersales Skills Competition, launched in collaboration with TVETMARA, which will provide Malaysian technical personnel with a platform to demonstrate and sharpen their capabilities in EV aftersales while promoting higher standards of technical competency for the country’s growing xEV sector.

Beyond the competition, the collaboration will support the development of local capabilities and talent, contributing to a stronger pipeline of skilled Malaysian personnel and supporting the long-term growth and localisation of the country’s electrified automotive industry.
