Mini GP, the fastest Mini ever on its way

The prototype of the exciting new sporty MINI was presented to the public for the first time in the program before the 24-hour Nurburgring race, which was held over last weekend. The series car will be launched on the market in 2020 in a limited range of just 3,000 units.

Currently, the new MINI John Cooper Works GP performs a Nordschleife legendary Nurburgring program as part of the series development process where it has already set the time that is almost half a minute below the record set by its predecessor!

The new MINI John Cooper Works GP will be produced next year in a limited edition of 3,000 units. With high engine power, suspension technology specific to the John Cooper Works model in motor sports, optimized mass construction and precision-defined aerodynamic properties, sets a new benchmark in the small car segment.

The fact that MINI’s extreme driving pleasure is at a completely new level has already become clear during the upgrading tests so far. The previous model (MINI John Cooper Works GP from 2013) set the previous benchmark on the Nordschleife from Nurburgring with eight minutes and 23 seconds. The prototype of the new MINI John Cooper Works GP surrounded the legendary “Green Inferno” in less than eight minutes and its test program is not yet over.

A four-cylinder engine with MINI TwinPower Turbo technology, which develops 300hp, is responsible for the captivating sprint and acoustic capability. Large air intakes, large alloy wheels, distinctive bumper design and attractive roof spoiler are unmistakable features for inspirational performance features – despite camouflage applied for testing purposes.
