Despite having direct segment rivals priced lower, the Toyota C-HR continues to sell at a rate of 150-180 units a month (current price with SST is RM150,000) which is good news for UMW Toyota and buyers are happy with their stylish crossover.
The C-HR is sold in Malaysia with a DVD Player working with a 7″ Capacitive Touch Screen, there is Smartphone Connectivity, Wi-Fi, Internet Browser, Voice Recognition, HDMI, USB, Bluetooth® & a clear defined Reverse Camera.
Taking into consideration the requirements and conditions in the ASEAN region, the C-HR engineers chose the Toyota 2ZR-FBE petrol engine which is from the ZR engine family that is used in a wide range of Toyota models. As with virtually all modern Toyota engines, the 1.8-litre 4-cylinder powerplant has dual overhead camshafts (DOHC) with 4 valves per cylinder and Dual VVT-I (computer managed, continuously variable valve timing at the intake and exhaust ports).
Its safety features include ABS as standard with Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), also fitted with 7 Airbags and Traction Control (TRC) as well as Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and a Blind Spot Monitoring system (BSM). The C-HR is also equipped with an Electric Parking Brake and Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) to prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards while moving on a steep slope.
Like other Toyota models imported and distributed by UMW Toyota Motor, the C-HR comes with a 5-year comprehensive warranty. There is no mileage limit on this warranty which is fully backed by Toyota. During the first 5 years of ownership after registration, the warranty can be transferred to the next owner of the vehicle if it is sold off. Full aftersales support, including replacement parts, will be available through the network of authorised Toyota service centres nationwide.
