Chery Auto Malaysia Gets A New VP And Where Is Micheal Chew Going

There has just been a shift in senior management at Chery Auto Malaysia

With the fast pace of sales and network growth and the building of a new Malaysian factory, Chery Auto Malaysia has some senior management changes. This news comes just before the launch last week of their well priced Omoda 05

Changes that the industry would not have predicted or seen but we at www.dsf.my have just seen it. Vice President of Chery Auto Malaysia, Michael Chew’s position is now in the hands of a new employee who was formerly a German and Chinese auto senior executive.

Meanwhile, for most Malaysians, the name Micheal Chew only surfaced in the last year plus after Chery Auto Malaysia started making a real impact in the Malaysian non automotive scene.

We are talking about social responsibility events, conservation events, olympic related events and the environmental and conservation scene. Yes, Chery Malaysia has invested heavily in all these areas in the last year plus and Micheal Chew, former VP Of Chery Malaysia has been right in front of it making headlines in all the local news.

Micheal Chew has been instrumental in Chery’s Malaysian growth from the launching of its assembly plant in Inokom last year to the recent launch and media test drive event of the fast selling Chery Tiggo Cross.

Some history. Before Chery Auto Malaysia, Michael Chew has had decades of automotive experience in Malaysia as well as overseas automotive markets.

Decades ago we met him when he was at Honda Malaysia and then he moved on to Mercedes-Benz, BMW and even Proton export department. His stint overseas was with a German brand as well and upon his return to Malaysia he made his move into the limelight with product planning and more recently as the VP of Chery Auto Malaysia.

Now he is moving into a larger automotive role and we at www.dsf.my wish him all the best and the official announcement will be coming very soon.
