The 2023 Mazda CX-30 is the 3rd production model that is locally assembled at the Inokom Assembly Plant in Kulim, Kedah.
The winner of the Autobild COTY, 2020 Red Dot Design for Passenger Car category and the DSF.my VOTY 2020 Crossover Of The Year, the Mazda CX-30 was designed to inspire creativity and with the proportions to offer the freedom to go anywhere, making it a well-appointed compact crossover in keeping up with an active daily lifestyle.
The Mazda CX-30 has quickly been recognized for its sleek styling, driving dynamics and superior craftsmanship. Based on the “Charge and Release” design language taken from the brushwork used in Japanese Calligraphy, this concept has its roots in the elements of the Kodo – Soul of Motion design philosophy. As a result, the design of the Mazda CX-30 portrays a sense of strong forward motion.
The black cladding of the lower body creates a sleek flowing proportion which provides an impression of stability and power worthy of a compact SUV, while the rear fender uncovers an alluring and sensuously powerful rear end like a sports car.
The front styling carries Mazda’s signature wing that portrays a sharper and deeper form that combines the solid and sculpted contour of the front bumper. In addition, the design of the radiator grille’s triangular motif shows rich variations through different viewing angles.
A highly refined interior offers a comfortable, spacious and quiet cabin for all occupants to enjoy a relaxing atmosphere and make joyful conversation where the clarity and quality of the audio system with its optimized speaker layout resemble a sound studio.
The interior design of the Mazda CX-30’s cabin is based on Mazda’s human-centered design philosophy and traditional Japanese architecture, where a snug and condensed cockpit area for the driver and a clean, airy open space around the front passenger.
As a result, the Mazda CX-30’s interior achieves both flowing elegance and beauty, coupled with bold and versatility of SUV. Moreover, great attention was paid to every detail of the materials to create a refined, top-quality interior space.
The cabin’s packaging accommodates all passengers in relaxed comfort while the luggage space of 430 litres offers enhanced practicality and generous space suitable for all lifestyle requirements. Furthermore, the driver’s cabin is further evolved by adopting the most advanced realization and technologies during the research and development of the driving position and Human-Machine-Interface (HMI).
The Mazda CX-30 adopts an 8.8-inch infotainment display, offering simplified operation via the Commander Control Knob.
The infotainment system enables the user to connect to Apple Carplay and Android Auto, located at the centre console armrest. Fitted with a 3-way audio system, an 8-speaker configuration with 3L woofers provides an immersive audio experience for both driver and passengers.
The locally assembled Mazda CX-30 comes in 4 variants: the 2.0L, 2.0 High, 2.0L High+ and 2.0L High+ Premium.
In terms of powertrain, the Mazda CX-30 comes equipped with the SKYACTIV-G 2.0L 2WD gasoline engine to deliver enhanced driving performance, fuel efficiency and eco-friendliness. Other standard features such as G-Vectoring Plus (GVC Plus), Rain sensing wipers, Advanced Keyless Entry and Active Driving Display comes standard in all variants.
In terms of Safety, the Mazda CX-30 was awarded the and as well as IIHS 2020 TOP SAFETY PICK+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in 2019, one of the models to score the highest-ever mark in the adult occupancy category.
The Mazda CX-30 also performed remarkably in the other three categories – Child Occupant, Vulnerable Road User (pedestrian) and Safety Assist. The Mazda i-Activsense advanced safety features such as the Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), Lane-Keep Assist System (LAS), Driver Attention Alert (DAA), Smart Brake Support (SBS) and Mazda Radar Cruise Control with Stop & Go function (MRCC) will come as standard in the High+ and High+ Premium variant.
Meanwhile, the Adaptive LED Headlamps (ALH), Front Cross Traffic Alert (FCTA), Driver Attention Alert (DAA) with Driver Monitoring (DM) and Cruising & Traffic Support (CTS) will be available exclusively on the Mazda CX-30 High+ Premium variant only.
The Mazda CX-30 is assembled locally (CKD) at the Inokom Assembly plant located at Kulim, Kedah. The Mazda CX-30, similar to the CX-5 and CX-8 is assembled in a dedicated section of the plant. Mazda Malaysia has installed the similar processes and quality control steps similar to Mazda vehicles manufactured in Japan. The plant also features an upgraded automated body line and the state-of-the-art premium paint facility.
The colour line-up includes Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, Snowflake White Pearl, Deep Crystal Blue, Jet Black, Platinum Quartz and Polymetal Gray.
The selling price for the Mazda CX-30 starts from RM 128,109.00. All new Mazda vehicles registered come with a 5-Years Manufacturer Warranty + 5-Years Free Maintenance (except Mazda BT-50) according to manufacturer’s standards, including labour, parts and lubricants.
Both Manufacturer’s Warranty and Free Maintenance have a coverage period of five years and a mileage limit of 100,000km, whichever comes first.
