Jetour T1 Now Open For Booking In Malaysia From RM 143,800

This squarer sibling to the Jetour T2 will soon be arriving locally in two variants: 1.5T 2WD and 2.0T XWD.
Coming hot off the sales success of its T2, Jetour Malaysia has now also revealed that its T1 is now open for booking locally. This squarer and slightly smaller sibling will reportedly be offered in two variants, with prices estimated to start from RM 143,800.
More specifically, the T1 will be available in 1.5T 2WD and 2.0T XWD guises, with estimated pricing of RM 143,800 and RM 153,800 respectively… Though knowing how the wider Chery group operates, expect the final prices to be down by at least 10% on these indicative figures upon its eventually local launch.

The five-seater T1 measures 4,705 mm in length and 1,967 mm in width, with a 2,800 mm wheelbase. This makes it 80 mm shorter and 39 mm narrower than the T2, though the latter’s added length is largely due to its externally mounted spare wheel.
Visually meanwhile, the T1 adopts more of a Jeep Renegade/Ford Bronco-inspired aesthetic, rather than the Defender-esque look mimicked by the T2. Its slightly rounded, boxy silhouette is framed by LED headlamps and taillamps with distinctive four-point signatures, while 18-inch alloys (19-inch on the higher-spec 2.0T XWD) sit beneath chunky, plastic-clad wheel arches.

Moving along inside, the T1’s cabin largely mirrors the T2’s layout. Standard equipment on the 1.5T 2WD includes leatherette seats, a powered driver’s seat, a 12.8-inch infotainment display, an eight-speaker sound system, monochrome ambient lighting and a panoramic view monitor.
The 2.0T XWD variant in turn adds a panoramic sunroof, driver’s seat memory, and a powered front passenger seat. It also gains a larger 15.6-inch central screen, a nine-speaker Sony audio system, and 64-colour ambient lighting.

As for powertrains, the 1.5T is expected to feature a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT). While Jetour Malaysia has yet to confirm official outputs, global figures suggest around 184 hp and 290 Nm.
The 2.0T XWD, on the other hand, should share its powertrain with the T2 (and the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro), utilising a 2.0-litre TGDi turbo-four producing 245 PS and 375 Nm of torque. Its XWD system sends power to all four wheels via a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, with this variant also featuring ‘7+X’ drive modes.

For exterior colours, the T1 will be offered in Khaki White, Aviation Silver, Sand Gold and Carbon Black. A local launch is expected within the next couple of months, with the model likely to be locally assembled in Johor from the outset.
