Striking Blue Jaguar F-Type Reims Edition Unveiled
This limited run Jaguar named after a French track is strangely only for UK customers.
Jaguar must either really love their heritage, or no one out there is buying their sports cars, because yet another special edition F-Type has been revealed recently.
Dubbed the F-Type Reims Edition, this most recent limited run of cars supposedly is inspired by the D-Type’s maiden victory at the 12 Hours of Reims way back in 1954. A victory which the British automaker asserts ‘marked the start of a truly golden era in Jaguar competition history, and went on to influence all future Jaguar sports cars, from E-type to F-Type’.
Announced on Blue Monday, this striking blue run of F-Types is the second Jaguar model to receive the Reims Edition makeover. Coming after the special edition of the XE bearing the same name that was launched in 2019.
Thus much like that particular limited run of XE sedans, the F-Type Reims Edition features roughly the same list of enhancements, with the most notable of which being the bespoke French Racing Blue exterior hue that was last used on the flagship XFR-S and XKR-S Jaguars. Other exterior add-ons include gloss black 20-inch five split-spoke alloy wheels and the standard Exterior Black Pack, consisting of gloss black side vents, gloss black Jaguar script and grille surround.
Stepping inside, the black theme continues with the inclusion of the Interior Black Pack, which adds a gloss black instrument cluster, door switches and door handles to the standard black leather trim. A selection of once-optional niceties like the panoramic roof, heated seats and the Climate Pack (two-zone climate control, heated steering wheel and a heated windscreen) are also fitted as standard to this limited-run F-Type.
Speaking of limited-run, the Jaguar F-Type Reims Edition is limited to just 150 units. All of which are also only available to UK customers.
Manufactured by the automaker’s Special Vehicles’ team, the Reims Edition F-Type can be ordered in either P300 or P450 RWD Coupe configurations. As no additional power upgrades have been detailed by Jaguar, expect a healthy 296 hp from the 2.0 litre four-cylinder of the P300, and the usual 444 hp from the 5.0 litre V8 of the P450.
Prices for these limited run coupes start at £58,950 (RM 325,000) for the P300 and £71,450 (RM 394,000) for the P450. With all the additional standard kit added on to this special edition, Jaguar claims that the Reims Edition represents a saving of up to £4,160 (RM 23,000).
UK Jaguar customers looking for a cool, blue F-Type could place orders for this special Reims Editions now. Deliveries however of these limited-run Jaguars will only take place in March.
PRESS RELEASE: On what is traditionally thought to be the most depressing day of the year, Blue Monday, Jaguar has released the perfect antidote: the F-TYPE Reims Edition. Finished in a striking French Racing Blue, it’s available only to UK customers, with just 150 units produced in either P300 or P450 RWD Coupé configurations.
The bespoke exterior shade is reserved only for the F-TYPE Reims Edition, which becomes the second Jaguar in the series, following the XE Reims Edition late in 2019. Other exterior enhancements include the standard fitment of the Exterior Black Pack, with gloss black side vents, Jaguar script and Leaper, and grille surround. A set of 20-inch five split-spoke gloss black alloy wheels are the perfect accompanying detail.
Inside, Reims Edition customers are treated to a timeless Ebony/Ebony interior combination, finished with the Interior Black Pack – gloss black door switches, door handles, instrument cluster finisher and more – and some carefully selected options. Among them buyers will find the Fixed Panoramic Roof, heated seats and the Climate Pack, to include two-zone climate control, heated steering wheel and a heated windscreen.
All of these extras are included in the F-TYPE Reims Edition price: £58,950 for the P300 and £71,450 for the P450, offering savings of up to £4,160.
The Reims Edition moniker is inspired by Jaguar’s sporting heritage, specifically the D-type’s maiden victory at the 12 Hours of Reims in 1954 which marked the start of a truly golden era in Jaguar competition history, and went on to influence all future Jaguar sports cars, from E-type to F-TYPE.
The E-type itself celebrates its 60th anniversary this year and is commemorated by another very special F-TYPE produced by Jaguar’s Special Vehicles’ Bespoke team. The limited-edition F-TYPE ‘Heritage 60 Edition’ is finished in Sherwood Green – another nostalgic colour choice – and comes with 1960’s inspired details, a bespoke interior and commemorative badging befitting the iconic E-type’s diamond anniversary.
With the F-TYPE Reims Edition we’re able to take the most advanced sports car we’ve ever produced, imbue it with a little bit of Jaguar racing heritage and deliver our customers even more value and exclusivity. For just 150 UK customers, and in the enormously important year for Jaguar’s sports car history, the F-TYPE is more enticing than ever. – RAWDON GLOVER, JAGUAR LAND ROVER UK MD
