iCAUR Malaysia has officially started local assembly (CKD) of the iCAUR 03 RWD, marking another step in the brand’s efforts to expand its locally assembled EV lineup in Malaysia.
The move follows the introduction of local assembly for the all-wheel-drive iCAUR 03 iWD back in May 2026. With the RWD version now joining the CKD lineup, both iCAUR 03 variants are officially being assembled locally.
Despite the switch from completely built-up (CBU) imports to local assembly, the iCAUR 03 RWD continues to be offered at its introductory price of RM119,740. The price is On-The-Road without insurance for Peninsular Malaysia.
More importantly, buyers are not getting a different version of the car just because it is now locally assembled. iCAUR says the CKD model retains the same specifications, features and performance as the previous CBU version.
Powering the iCAUR 03 RWD is a single electric motor mounted on the rear axle, producing 135 kW (184 PS) and 220 Nm of torque. Drivers can also choose between five selectable driving modes depending on their driving conditions.
The motor is paired with a 65.7 kWh LFP battery, giving the iCAUR 03 RWD a claimed driving range of up to 426 km under the NEDC cycle.
When it comes to charging, the EV supports up to 80 kW DC fast charging and 6.6 kW AC charging, giving owners both faster charging options on longer trips and conventional AC charging for everyday use.
Production of the locally assembled iCAUR 03 RWD officially began in September 2026, with the first batch of CKD units scheduled to be delivered to customers from October 2026. However, iCAUR Malaysia notes that the initial supply of locally assembled units will be limited.
The iCAUR 03 also continues to stand out from the growing number of EVs in Malaysia with its boxy, retro-inspired styling. Rather than going for the usual smooth and futuristic EV design, the 03 combines its squared-off shape and rugged appearance with an all-electric powertrain.
With the RWD variant now locally assembled alongside the iWD, iCAUR has completed the CKD lineup for the iCAUR 03 in Malaysia, while keeping the model’s introductory pricing and specifications unchanged.
