Harley-Davidson Motorcycles Enter PDRM Proof of Concept Programme
Route 77 Harley-Davidson of Kuala Lumpur has handed over three Harley-Davidson motorcycles to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) for a Proof of Concept (POC) evaluation by the Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT).
The three motorcycles involved are the Harley-Davidson Low Rider ST, Street Glide and Pan America, giving JSPT the chance to evaluate different types of Harley-Davidson motorcycles in an operational environment.
According to the JSPT director, the POC will allow the department to assess the motorcycles based on factors such as performance, handling, manoeuvrability and practicality, particularly for escort and official duties.
The evaluation will also coincide with Le Tour de Langkawi (LTDL) 2026, giving JSPT personnel an opportunity to put the motorcycles through real-world conditions involving sustained riding, different road conditions and the operational demands of a major sporting event.
However, don’t expect to see these Harley-Davidson motorcycles becoming permanent PDRM bikes just yet.
The three motorcycles have been provided strictly for the POC evaluation, and their use during LTDL 2026 does not mean they have been permanently deployed or adopted by PDRM.
The evaluation also does not represent an endorsement, procurement commitment or confirmation of any future purchase. Any potential acquisition would still be subject to PDRM’s usual evaluation, approval and procurement procedures.
The handover ceremony was held at Route 77 Harley-Davidson of Kuala Lumpur, with the motorcycles handed over to PDRM/JSPT by representatives including Datuk Omar Ali Abdullah, Larry Yap Eng Keong and Juan Chow Wee.
