The Honda ZR-V is based on the 11th-generation Civic, using the same 1.5-litre turbocharged engine. The ‘Z’ in the name of the SUV shows that Honda’s intends to target the Generation Z buyers. Like we mentioned above, the ZR-V is equipped with a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine. However, the European market will be getting a different powertrain, with the exclusive I-MMD petrol-electric hybrid. Meanwhile, the petrol version engine will output 182PS and 240Nm of torque. It is also paired with a CVT transmission just like the Civic.

The Civic’s influence continues with the interior. The Honda ZR-V sports a similar 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and the lengthy air-conditioning vents. Underneath that is a large storage compartment with two USB-C ports. However, the centre console is much different with a few features removed like the cup holders while electronic parking brake and a few buttons are added.

Pricing for the ZR-V has yet to be revealed. It has been confirmed that the ZR-V will be launched soon but its not certain that it would enter Southeast Asia. If it does, it might not do so well as it’s expected to sell at a high price.
