Lower Spec Honda City Variants Now With RM 2,000 Rebate

This promotion on is part of Honda Malaysia’s All-New City 12.12 Special Sales.

Prospective 5th generation Honda City owners can now experience greater savings when buying their new compact Japanese sedan in the next couple of days, as Honda Malaysia has recently announced the launch of its ‘All-New City 12.12 Special Sales’ promotional campaign.

Through this promotional campaign, bookings made for the lower two S and E variants of the City will be entitled to a RM 2,000 rebate. Aimed to deliver the ‘Joy of Buying’ to Malaysian Honda customers, in addition to the special rebate offered here, City buyers are also able to enjoy the sales tax exemption when purchasing their new cars during this promotional period.

As the name suggest, this promotional campaign runs from the 1st of December all the way till the 12th of December. Saying that, this date window here only applies to the booking process. The registration process of these new City models on the other hand can take place any time within the last month of this year. This rebate however will only be entitled to customers who fulfil both the booking and registration requirements at any authorised Honda dealership nationwide within the allotted dates.

The Honda City S and E variants are currently retailing for RM 74,191.27 and RM 81,664.82 respectively. Both variants are powered by a new 121 PS/145 Nm 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC four-cylinder that is mated to a Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT). Standard on both trim levels too are a whole host of passive safety aids, such as Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Hill Start Assist (HSA), and a new Rear Seatbelt Reminder.

Honda City Turbo 2021 launched

Features that are added on the higher-end E variant over the S variant however are remote engine start, an 8 inch central infotainment screen with integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, reverse sensors with a multi-angle reverse camera, automatic air conditioning and cruise control. Steering-mounted paddle shifters also appear on the E trim level.

Thus far, over 9,000 bookings have been placed for the new Honda City nationwide. An impressive feat considering it has only launched a month and a bit prior. However seeing as the majority of bookings are for the top-spec (to-date) V variant, this special sales promotion could shrewdly then be thought of as Honda Malaysia’s idea to shift some of the lower tier, less popular variants.

Regardless, RM 2,000 is still a decent discount off a brand new model that recently debut. So if anyone is in the market for one of these cheaper City variants, now is a good as time as any to head down to the nearest Honda dealership.
