Denza Z9GT is a high-performance "shooting brake" designed under Wolfgang Egger

So … the Denza Z9GT is confirmed to be coming to Malaysia, with previews already held in 2025 and an expected launch in the first half of 2026 (1H 2026) as BYD’s premium brand’s flagship shooting brake, aiming to compete with luxury European EVs like the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo. It was previewed alongside the Denza D9 MPV launch and offers powerful EV or PHEV options, showcasing advanced tech and luxury features.

While official pricing hasn’t been announced, industry estimates suggest it could start from RM250,000 upwards, positioning it as a competitive alternative to luxury European models like the Porsche Taycan.

Performance and Specifications

The Denza Z9GT is a high-performance “shooting brake” (luxury wagon) designed under Wolfgang Egger, former designer for Audi and Lamborghini.

Powertrain: The BEV version features three electric motors producing up to 963 PS (approx. 710 kW), enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 3.4 seconds.

Range: The electric variant offers a range of up to 630 km (CLTC), while the PHEV variant can reach a combined range of 1,100 km.

Advanced Tech: It is equipped with e³ technology, allowing for unique manoeuvres such as “tank turns” and “crab walking” via independent rear-motor control.

Interior Luxury: Features include Nappa leather, “Zero-Gravity” seats, a Devialet sound system, and dual onboard refrigerators.
