Chery Malaysia Celebrates Its 1st Birthday With Some Great Offers

Enjoy a 2-year free servicing plan on all Chery models as part of their 1st birthday bonanza!

While it might seem like they have been around for a while already given how many of them are currently on the road these days, but Chery Malaysia has actually only been around for a year. In fact, it was just a couple of days ago that the Chinese automaker celebrated its first birthday over here (since making a return at least, but we’ll give that a pass).

Anyway, to celebrate this momentous occasion, Chery Malaysia is currently giving out some rather great deals. Like a two-year free service maintenance package for instance on all its current models, in addition to a complimentary pair of deployable side steps for its flagship Tiggo 8 Pro.

Now kicking off with further details on the two-year free service maintenance package first, new Chery customers who purchase any model within their current lineup (Omoda 5, Omoda E5 and Tiggo 8 Pro) from between May 1st and June 30th will be eligible for this rather sweet deal. What more his that this offer comes as an addition to the existing comprehensive aftersales package that the Chinese automaker provides, which includes a 7-year warranty coverage (or up to 150,000 km) and 5-years of complimentary labour service.

As for the deployable side steps meanwhile, this new complimentary accessory (worth RM 2,999 by the way) has been touted by Chery to add an extra dimension of convenience for when entering and exiting the massive Tiggo 8 Pro. Much like what is found on the fancier full-sized luxury SUVs, these retractable running boards will automatically deploy and stow away upon opening and closing the doors.

Priced from RM 159,800, the Tiggo 8 Pro comes in Dark Black, Khaki White and Aurora Green (Limited Edition). Powered by a 256 hp 2.0-litre TGDi turbo four-cylinder and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, this 7-seat SUV touts to offer a dynamic yet efficient journey with a fuel consumption rate of just 7.4 L/100 km.

The Omoda 5 on the other hand is priced from RM 108,800, and is powered by with a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder and 9-speed CVT. It is available in colours of Khaki White, Dark Black and Phantom Grey for the Omoda 5C variant; while the higher-end Omoda 5H comes in Khaki White with Red Stripe, Dark Black with Red Stripe, Phantom Grey with Red Stripe and a mix of Khaki White + Black with Red Stripe.

Regarding its all-electric counterpart now, the Omoda E5 is available in Aqua Green, Khaki White, Phantom Grey and Dark Black and is priced at RM 146,800. This particular EV comes packing a front-mounted drive motor with 201hp and 340Nm of torque, whereas its 61 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack offers a WLTP range of 430 km.

This weekend (18 May), selected Chery showrooms nationwide will also be previewing the Tiggo 7 Pro. Customers can now book this Proton X70 rival, with made all the more appealing from its current estimated launch price being touted to come in below RM 130,000. The soon-to-be launched model will be showcased at the upcoming Malaysia Autoshow 2024 as well, which is set to take place next week from the 22nd to 24th May.
