Local BMW & MINI Cars & After-Sales See A Price Hike For 2024
This round of price hikes for BMW and MINI Malaysia is attributed to rising inflation and production costs.
Prospective BMW and MINI owners in Malaysia, you might want to consider getting your cars before the end of this year. Such is because BMW Group Malaysia has recently announced that it is to be hiking its prices for both its cars and after-sales programs come the 1st of January 2024.
According to BMW Group Malaysia, this round of price hikes can be attributed to the global inflation rates and rising manufacturing costs. And while no specifics have actually provided regarding the imminent price hikes, it has nevertheless been announced that there will be an average price increase of approximately 2.3% and 0.3% for BMW and MINI models respectively across the board.
Funnily enough, it is worth noting that the primary contributing factor of these price hikes is apparently the BMW and MINI Service and Repair Inclusive (BSRI/MSRI) warranty and maintenance program. According to BMW Group Malaysia, the increase in these package prices is what has contributed to the overall general price increase this time round.
Across the BMW portfolio, there will be an overall price increase of 1 to 2% without BSRI in Malaysia. For the MINI portfolio meanwhile, the current line-up of vehicles will not receive a price update in Malaysia. However, the 2024 MSRI rate increase will be applied for all models, with an increase ranging from 0.3 to 0.5%.
Incidentally, the ‘Service and Repair Inclusive’ term is BMW Group Malaysia-speak for its maintenance and repair programme coverage. It is now known officially as the BMW Warranty & Service Package that provides a five-year unlimited mileage warranty and five-year/100,000 km service in its extended form. Those who decide to opt out of this program will only be left with a two-year unlimited milage standard warranty package.
