Auto Bavaria Enters The Classic Car Repair & Restoration Field

Auto Bavaria sets to differentiate itself by using genuine BMW Germany parts and providing a verifiable history record.

As the old saying goes, there ain’t nothing more expensive than an old German car. And it looks as if Auto Bavaria aims to capitalise on that, as it has recently announced that it will be the first dealership in Malaysia to offer specialised services dedicated to classic BMWs and MINIs.

With a dedicated team comprising two work bays, two skilled technicians, a foreman, and two service advisors exclusively allocated at the Ara Damansara dealership, Auto Bavaria styles itself as being primed to offer a comprehensive range of services to keep one’s cherished classic BMW or MINI in tip-top shape. These services encompass Service Maintenance, Component Repair, Refurbishment, and Make Good, which in turn ensuring that these cherished classic cars receive the utmost care and attention they deserve after their first flush of youth.

In order to also uphold the top-quality service that is to be expected from a main dealership partner, Auto Bavaria touts itself in prioritising the sourcing of parts and accessories directly from BMW Germany. In cases where specific parts are phased out meanwhile, the dealership will explore sourcing alternatives directly from OEM suppliers while maintaining stringent quality standards.

Different to all the other independent classic car outlets as well, Auto Bavaria aims to differentiate itself from them by meticulously recording all the work that has been done by them in a dedicated BMW Classic Car Service Booklet. This additional layer of authenticated history that is all securely stored in the Auto Bavaria system will likely add greater peace of mind to the subsequent custodians of these classic cars if it ever were to change hands, not to mention a few more dollars to its price tag come sale time too.

The BMW Group currently defines a classic car as one that has surpassed 15 years after the last series production date of the model, typically occurring after a model’s seven-year lifecycle. So basically this includes any original (pre-BMW takeover) MINI, in addition to any BMW that has came before the once-mocked-but-now-rather-nice Chris Bangle era of cars.

Managing Director of BMW Group Malaysia, Hans de Visser said, “Auto Bavaria’s latest service offering for Classic BMW and MINI cars in Malaysia is a welcome initiative. Over the years, we have seen passion for the brand and our cars, whether old or new, expand across the country. We believe their latest service will serve this growing market well, strengthened by our confidence in Auto Bavaria’s experts to skilfully preserve these legacy models, ensuring the continued delivery of hallmark Sheer Driving Pleasure in Malaysia.”

Managing Director of Auto Bavaria, Vi Thim Juan on the other hand added, “We are thrilled to introduce this exclusive service catering to BMW and MINI classic car owners. Our team is equipped with specialised knowledge and expertise to maintain, repair, and refurbish these iconic vehicles, preserving their heritage and ensuring they continue to exude the same brilliance and performance that defined them in their prime.”

To schedule appointments for BMW and MINI classic car services, customers can access dedicated slots through the regular Auto Bavaria service channels. Interested individuals can however also contact Auto Bavaria Customer Care at 1300-13-3338 or visit the Ara Damansara branch for further inquiries.
