Allianz General Is Providing Speedy Flood Claim Settlements

This is all in preparation for the imminent monsoon and flood season in Malaysia. 

Allianz General Insurance Company (Malaysia) Berhad (Allianz General) is currently providing fast claims settlements to customers that are residing in flood-prone areas. This is ahead of the imminent monsoon season that usually brings with it the threat of flooding in several states nationwide. 

An annual service provided by Allianz General, the insurance provider is yet again offering these speedy flood settlements during this time period in 2020, in an effort to alleviate the distress caused by the damages due to the unpredictable weather. Moreover in accordance with the standard operating procedures put in place due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, this initiative will also be carried out while adhering to the latest guidelines as detailed by the government. 

As part of this fast claims settlement service, a full claims settlement or an interim payment would be provided to individual policy holders (such as Smart Home Cover) within five days after the adjuster completes the site visit. Furthermore, an interim payment within five days could also for those with fire insurance (commercial lines), with full claims settlements to be completed within 21 to 28 days after the visit from the insurance adjuster. Should there be any complications whereby the claim is unable to be settled within the 28 days, a second interim payment will be provided. 

Facilitating these speedy claim settlements are Allianz-branded 4x4s and its Claims Caravans that will be located throughout various regions across the nation, specifically Central region (Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, and Klang), Northern region (Ipoh, Penang, and Bukit Mertajam); East Coast (Kota Bharu and Kuantan), Southern region (Melaka, Johor Bahru, Kluang, and Segamat) and East Malaysia (Kota Kinabalu and Kuching). 

These vehicles are to be routinely deployed to these aforementioned locations to facilitate a ‘swift and seamless claims process’. To Allianz General customers in need of these services, a call to 1-800-22-5542 will also be sufficient to acquire an adjuster to survey the affected property within 24 hours.

Allianz General’s Head of Claims, Damian Williams said the Company will continue to carry out the initiative while adhering to the guidelines of the Conditional Movement Control Order.

“As insurers, our responsibilities go beyond providing protection that matters and paying out claims quickly, it is also about serving our communities the best way we can during their time of need. So, just like in years past, we are once again providing fast claims settlements for customers that will enable them to get back on their feet just as quick,” said Damian. 

For individual policyholders (such as Smart Home Cover), the Company is providing full claims settlement or an interim payment within five days after the site visit from the adjuster. Those with fire insurance (commercial lines), can expect an interim payment within five days after the visit from the adjuster, with full claims settlement being paid between 21 to 28 days after the visit from the adjuster. However, if for any reason, the Company is unable to settle the claim before day 28, then a second interim payment will be made.
