Honda Malaysia has clarified that the New Honda City E variant uses rear drum brakes, addressing a discrepancy in its published specifications.
The company confirmed the brake system specification following feedback from a customer who highlighted the issue. Honda Malaysia has since contacted the customer to resolve the matter amicably.
Honda Malaysia also stated that the rear drum brake system complies with all applicable safety and quality standards.
In response to the discrepancy, the company is withdrawing existing New City promotional and informational materials. It will replace them with updated versions across authorised dealerships and online platforms.
The clarification concerns the rear brake specification of the E variant. Honda Malaysia has not announced any other changes to the model’s specifications.
