Facelifted Land Rover Defender Now Open For Booking Locally

This lightly titivated Land Rover Defender brings with it modest exterior and interior updates.

While there are plenty of new imitators on the market, there is nevertheless only one Land Rover Defender. And better yet for the wealthy elite who can afford the real deal, the latest facelifted version has just opened for booking over here.

Now admittedly here, this latest refresh isn’t the most radical from the outside at least. Only the eagle-eyed will notice that the headlamps have gained a revised lighting signature featuring two bars flanking the central circle, while the taillights are now smoked for a slightly more menacing look.

Other subtle tweaks on this titivated Landy include bumpers now featuring optimised surfaces finished in either Silicon Silver or Carpathian Grey Satin, while a gloss black grille bar also is now standard up front and paired with a dark oval badge. There’s also a new textured pattern for the bonnet inserts and side vents too, with the wheels now gaining Defender-branded centre caps for a final touch of distinction.

Moving along inside meanwhile, there are fortunately bigger changes to experience, literally. The previous 11.4-inch infotainment touchscreen has been replaced with a larger 13.1-inch unit, which now completely fills the gap between the centre console and the upper dashboard for a more integrated look.

The centre console has since also gained a new sliding section as well, allowing small items to be hidden away in a closed cubby. And for those who genuinely intend to take their million-ringgit 4×4 off the beaten path, the inclusion of Adaptive Off-Road Cruise Control as part of the facelift should be a welcome addition.

Unfortunately, Jaguar Land Rover Malaysia has yet to provide further details on the exact variants that will be offered locally. What is known however is that it will be available in all three of the usual body styles: 90, 110 and 130.

Expectedly too, there’s no pricing just yet. Though for context, the pre-facelift V8 was priced from RM 998,000 for the 110 and RM 1,198,000 for the 130 before taxes and options. The base V6 110 P400 in turn retailed at RM 1,238,800 with tax, while the range-topping Octa started from RM 2,298,000.
