Honda Malaysia Updates The CR-V With More Hybrid Variants

The CR-V also now nets a larger 9-inch central screen and blind spot monitors on both sides.
Honda Malaysia has kicked off its supposed six new launches this year with a mild reshuffle of its existing range, trimming the Honda CR-V line-up from four variants down to three. The baseline turbocharged S has been dropped, and in its place comes a new hybrid grade: the e:HEV E.

Its introduction marks the first time two hybrid variants are offered within a single Honda model line-up locally, joining the existing flagship e:HEV RS. The move also lowers the entry point into CR-V hybrid ownership, though with the petrol S now gone and the E switching to electrified power, the overall starting price of this popular SUV has inevitably crept up.
The new base, but now electrified, E commands an RM 8,300 premium over the outgoing petrol-powered E (previously RM 169,900), bringing its price up to RM 178,200. Meanwhile, the V and range-topping e:HEV RS carry on unchanged at RM 181,900 and RM 195,900 respectively.

Under the bonnet, the e:HEV E utilises the same Intelligent Multi-Mode Drive (i-MMD) system as the RS, with outputs unchanged. A 2.0-litre naturally-aspirated Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine primarily acts as a generator, producing 148 PS and 190 Nm, while the electric motor delivers 184 PS and 335 Nm. The sole remaining petrol V variant in turn continues with the 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo four-cylinder making 193 PS and 243 Nm, paired to a CVT.

Visually, this 2026 model year update brings with it a new Blazing Red Pearl exterior colour to the existing palette, while wheel finishes now distinguish the powertrains more clearly. The purely-petrol V rides on 18-inch alloys finished in Sparkle Silver, whereas the hybrid variants receive 18-inch Berlina Black rollers.
Inside, all variants now come as standard with a larger 9.0-inch Advanced Display Audio system, complete with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The e:HEV RS further gains a darker hairline film finish across the dashboard and RS-embossed seats for a slightly sportier touch.

Elsewhere, the LaneWatch camera has finally been replaced by a proper Blind Spot Information (BSI) system, joined by a Rear Cross Traffic Monitor (RCTM). All variants also now come fitted with Honda Authorised Solar and Security tint film by Ecotint as standard.

Rounding things off is the addition of a new Digital Key function, allowing owners to lock, unlock and start the vehicle via a compatible smartphone. Remote window closing and power tailgate operation are now integrated into the Honda Connect app as well.
