Chery Malaysia Debuts CarLinko Mobile App For Its PHEVs

Among the more handy features of this Chery connectivity app is the ability to set a charging schedule.

As with just about everything these days, there is an app for it. And Chery’s latest plug-in hybrids are no different, as the Chinese automaker has introduced its new CarLinko mobile app exclusively for owners of the Tiggo 7 and 8 PHEVs.

Now very much like Honda Connect or Hello smart apps, the CarLinko app essentially allows owners to interact with their vehicle remotely via their smartphones, adding an extra layer of convenience to daily driving. Among the more useful features includes remote air-conditioning activation, which lets drivers pre-cool the cabin before even stepping inside, something that will no doubt be appreciated in Malaysia’s heat.

Beyond that too, the app provides real-time access to key vehicle information anytime and anywhere. Owners can check essentials such as mileage, remaining driving range, battery status and fuel levels, while additional data like tyre pressure and fuel consumption are also available remotely.

CarLinko also streamlines ownership on the maintenance front, with users able to review upcoming service schedules and access detailed service records directly through the app. Those who are a little forgetful about where they last parked will also appreciate the built-in vehicle locator function, which comes in handy when trying to find your car in a packed parking lot.

Where CarLinko arguably stands out most though is in its energy management capabilities. Designed specifically with plug-in hybrid systems in mind, the app allows owners to schedule battery charging at home, making it easier to optimise charging during off-peak hours. This not only improves convenience, but can also help reduce overall running costs, particularly in today’s climate of rising fuel prices.

Offered as a complimentary feature for all Chery PHEV owners in Malaysia, the CarLinko app is available for download via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. New owners will have the system activated during vehicle delivery, while existing owners can visit any authorised dealership for secure pairing and setup.
