Following on from its initial debut at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) back in February, VinFast has since announced that it has recently opened its first dealership over in our neighbours to the west. This first outlet of the Vietnamese automaker’s is currently located in Depok City, west of Jakarta, and is operated by PT Galleri Setia Utama.

Initially, this outlet will showcase two of VinFast’s premiere EVs in Indonesia — the VF 5 subcompact and VF e34 compact crossovers. These two models will apparently be joined by two more by the end of this year, when the Vietnamese automaker eventually gets its local-assembly over there plant up and running.

Mr. Nguyễn Ngọc Chức, Deputy CEO of VinFast Indonesia, said of this premiere outlet: “With the opening of the first VinFast dealership in Indonesia, we proudly take another significant step in the journey of bringing high-quality electric vehicles and exceptional after-sales service to consumers in the market. Now regarding the specs of these particular EVs, the larger VF e34 was launched over in Indonesia last month at a price of IDR 315,000,000 (RM 95,000). It has to be noted though that the aforementioned price is sans battery, with VinFast instead offering a unique battery subscription policy that the automaker claims to be aimed at reducing the cost of EV ownership and increasing accessibility for users.

The VF e34 measures 4,300 mm long, 1,768 mm wide, 1,615 mm tall and its wheelbase spans 2,611 mm. Powering this compact e-crossover is a 150 PS front mounted motor, which is hooked up to a 44.5 kWh battery that claims a NEDC-rated driving range of just a sliver under 320 km. VinFast goes on to tout that it is currently offering a 10-year warranty with this model, along with complimentary battery maintenance and free replacement if capacity drops below 70%.

In addition to partnering with PT Gallerie Setia Utama, VinFast plans to significantly expand its electric vehicle distribution network across major cities in Indonesia throughout 2024.
