Toyota’s Latest Special Edition GR86 Is Named After A Fruit

The Toyota GR86 Yuzu Edition nets uprated brakes and dampers to go with its bright yellow paintwork.

Toyota has given the GR86 yet another special edition, and this time it’s named after a fruit. Say hello to the vibrantly yellow GR86 Yuzu Edition!

This limited-run variant is to be based upon the recently-updated 2026 GR86 Premium, and (much like the Hakone Edition that came before) all 860 examples of this vibrantly yellow special edition will be only offered in the United States.

Now the most obvious distinguishing feature of this particular special edition GR86 is of course to be its Yuzu Yellow exterior hue — a colour that Toyota nerds will recall was first seen on the launch edition Scion FR-S Release Series 1.0. Contrasting the vibrant yellow paintwork in turn are a set of 18-inch matte black alloy wheels, to which behind each of them feature uprated Brembo brakes (with red painted calipers) and Sachs dampers.

Moving along inside the Yuzu Edition meanwhile, its standard Ultrasuede sport seats have since been brightened up with the addition of yellow stitching and perforation. Said yellow contrast stitching further extends across the gear shift boot and steering wheel, while a commemorative plaque discreetly inset into the driver’s side dashboard panel completes the cosmetic changes within for this special edition.

As has become tradition with any special edition GR86, there is unfortunately no performance gain to come with the bright yellow paintwork. Under the hood of the Yuzu Edition therefore lies same 2.4-litre naturally aspirated flat-four from the standard car, which sends 228 horsepower and 249 Nm of torque to its rear wheels via the choice of either a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission.

Toyota has yet to announce exactly how much exactly its US-based buyers will have to fork out for the privilege of having one’s GR86 painted in Yuzu Yellow from the factory, but it has instead previewed a factory bodykit (as seen in all these photos here) that one could tack on to their Japanese sports car. This kit brings with it an extended front chin spoiler, deeper side skirts, a fatter rear bumper, a larger ducktail spoiler, as well as quad-tipped catback exhaust.
