There Are Now Over 20,000 Omoda Jaecoo SUVs In Malaysia

Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia has managed this significant achievement in just 14 months since its local debut.
While it might not be a total surprise given how many you see on the road every day, but Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia has recently announced that it has delivered its 20,000th vehicle locally. This impressive feat comes in a remarkably short timespan, with the automaker having landed over here just 14 months ago in July 2024.
Incidentally, the 20,000th Omoda Jaecoo delivered locally was a J7 PHEV to En. Khirdzir Ali. Befitting this momentous milestone, the Chinese automaker held an exclusive owner celebration dubbed ‘20,000 and Beyond: A Celebration of Trust’ at Blossom Glass Mansion, attended by over 100 guests.
In conjunction with this milestone, Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia is extending its outgoing exclusive ownership offers. The Jaecoo J7 PHEV for instance now comes with seven years of complimentary service or RM5,000 in rewards.
Attractive financing packages and service options meanwhile are also available for models such as the J7 2WD, J7 AWD, C9 2WD, and C9 AWD range. Customers may contact their authorised dealers for further details on these ongoing promotions.
With this momentous milestone, it should not be all too surprising to know that Omoda Jaecoo ranks among Malaysia’s best-selling five automotive marques in the first half of 2025. What will be worth watching though is whether this new Chinese brand can muscle its way up the ladder even further, with the four above it (Perodua, Proton, Toyota and Honda) seemingly rather secure in their positions since time immemorial.
The Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia lineup currently consists of three locally-assembled models: the Jaecoo J7 (ICE & PHEV), Omoda C9, and Jaecoo J8. Upcoming in the pipeline is the smaller Jaecoo J5, which will be taking aim at the Proton X50 and Honda HR-V with its estimated RM 120,000 price tag.
Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia Acting Sales Director Clement Yeo said, “Reaching 20,000 registrations in just over a year is a proud moment for us and a testament to the trust Malaysian customers have placed in Omoda Jaecoo. This milestone is also part of a wider achievement for Chery Group, which has surpassed 5 million vehicles sold in export markets, with over 600,000 contributed by Omoda Jaecoo vehicles.”
“Through our authorised dealer network, we remain committed to delighting customers in Malaysia with an exceptional portfolio that blends advanced technology such as the Super Hybrid System with premium comfort, safety, and design,” he added.
Omoda Jaecoo Malaysia further notes that its commercial success echoes the broader strategy of Chery Group. The big C recently became the first Chinese carmaker to export more than 5 million vehicles, maintaining its leadership in passenger car exports for 22 consecutive years.
The larger Chery group currently has four of its brands here: Chery, Omoda Jaecoo, Jetour, and iCar. Funnily enough however, the namesake brand itself hasn’t managed to overtake its supposedly more premium and lifestyle-centric subsidiary in the local sales chart.
