All Honda Hybrids To Now Come With 10-Year Battery Warranty

This decade-long warranty also extends to selected hybrid components, and even prior models too.
For those who have perhaps resisted the switch to hybrid due to maintenance concerns, that should no longer be an issue. Such is especially as Honda has just announced that, effective 1 May 2026, all customers who purchase one of their e:HEV models will now enjoy a 10-year, unlimited mileage warranty on the hybrid battery and related components.

What’s more, this move is not limited to new buyers. Existing Honda e:HEV and previous-generation i-DCD owners will also benefit, with the warranty on their hybrid batteries extended from the original 8 years to 10 years. Selected hybrid components, meanwhile, see coverage increased from 5 to 10 years as well.
Best of all, this coverage is not limited to the first owner. Subsequent owners remain eligible, as the warranty is transferable and valid up to the 10th year, effectively covering nearly all hybrid Hondas currently on the road in Malaysia.

Honda’s hybrid journey stretches back further than many realise, with its first-generation Insight actually beating the Toyota Prius to become the world’s first production hybrid before the turn of the millennium. Closer to home, Honda’s hybrid push in Malaysia also incidentally began with the Insight, as its second generation was introduced locally during the government’s CKD hybrid incentive era.

Since then, there has been a steady stream of hybrid offerings from the Big H, from the sporty CR-Z to more practical options like the Jazz, City and HR-V i-DCD variants. In fact, today, with the exception of the WR-V, every Honda model on sale locally has a hybrid option, with the hybrid-only Prelude set to join the lineup soon.

Honda is touting that this latest warranty extension programme reinforces its confidence in the durability and long-term performance of its hybrid systems. It also underscores the brand’s continued commitment to its e:HEV technology, backed by strong nationwide after-sales support, parts availability, and proven ownership value, all of which should further strengthen buyer confidence in Honda’s hybrid ecosystem.
