Range Rover Sport SVR Adds New ‘Ultimate’ Edition

Perfect for those who wishes their Range Rover Sport SVRs to be that little bit more showy.

The Range Rover Sport SVR is probably not the subtle of offerings in its current lineup. In fact, with its bellowing supercharged V8 under the hood and the copious amounts of sporty accoutrements adorned on its skin, some might even think it to be the showiest model on offer currently by the British SUV manufacturer.

In the world of the Range Rover Sport SVR itself however, there are nevertheless some trim levels that are also naturally more showy than others. And the variant that is presumably the most brash of them lot will likely be the newly launched Ultimate edition of this sporty SUV, which can be had with a new set of solid glass flake exterior paint options for the first time.

Sitting atop the standard Range Rover Sport SVR, this latest Special Vehicle Operations project has added a Maya Blue Gloss and Marl Grey Gloss hue into its extensive exterior colour choice. Both of which feature reflective glass flake particles mixed into base-coat, that Land Rover claims to give ‘an intense star-like sparkle’ to this SUV.

New also on this sporty Rangie is a slightly more subtle Satin Ligurian Black paint option, which ties in well with the Gloss Narvik Black contrast roof that is standard on these Ultimate edition SUVs. This particular variant of SVR nets door mirror caps, front grilles and grille surrounds, front wing detail and tailgate finishers in the same gloss-black finish as well.

This Ultimate edition SVR is further distinguished too from its common counterparts by way of a body-coloured carbon fibre vented bonnet, not to mention 22-inch five split-spoke forged alloy wheels that hide behind it black brake calipers. The SV Bespoke team has fitted black knurled Range Rover lettering on the bonnet and tailgate to boot, with a contrasting Fuji White edging that is also seen on side fender accents.

Now moving on inside meanwhile, this variant of Range Rover Sport features a pair of SVR-embossed lightweight Performance Seats that come wrapped in Windsor leather and contrasting Suede-cloth. Other small touches that are custom on this Ultimate edition too includes black anodised metal paddle shifters behind its leather wrapped steering wheel, model-specific illuminated tread plates on its door sills and chrome ‘SV Bespoke’ badges affixed on the B-pillars.

Shared between its standard siblings though is the same supercharged 5.0-litre V8, which outputs a more-than-healthy 575 PS and 700 Nm of torque to all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission. Billed as ‘the fastest, most powerful and most dynamic Land Rover ever produced’, this British behemoth is claimed to crack the century sprint in just 4.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 283 km/h (176 mph).

Set to make its official debut on the Land Rover show stand at Salon Privé in Blenheim Palace early this September, global orders for this Range Rover Sport SVR Ultimate edition are nevertheless apparently open from the 24th of August already. Those who do fancy one of these SUVs would likely have to have some rather deep pockets however, as its retail price starts from £123,900 (RM 717,000), or some £40,000 (RM 213,000) more expensive than its standard SVR sibling.

PRESS RELEASE: Special Vehicle Operations has launched a special edition Range Rover Sport SVR with spectacular new solid glass flake paintwork options for the first time.

Featuring a selection of exclusive paint colour combinations and tailored interior detailing by the SV Bespoke vehicle personalisation team, the 575PS Range Rover Sport SVR Ultimate edition enhances the visual appeal of the fastest and most powerful vehicle in the Land Rover family.

Three hand-finished exterior paint choices include new Gloss Maya Blue and Gloss Marl Grey colours, both of which are exclusive to the Ultimate edition. Delicate and highly reflective fine white glass flake particles in the solid base coat give an intense star-like sparkle. A third option, for a more stealthy look, is Satin Ligurian Black. Each colour features a Gloss Narvik Black contrast roof.

The SV Bespoke team’s attention to detail extends to Black knurled Range Rover lettering on the bonnet and tailgate, with exclusive contrasting Fuji White edging which is also used for side fender accents.

A body-coloured carbon fibre vented bonnet, 22-inch five split-spoke forged alloy wheels and black brake calipers reinforce the Ultimate edition’s strong presence, complementing the SVR’s Narvik Black contrast roof, door mirror caps, front grilles and grille surrounds, front wing detail and tailgate finishers.

Range Rover Sport SVR is the fastest, most powerful and most dynamic Land Rover ever produced. Now in its second generation, the current model is powered by a 575PS version of the 5.0-litre V8 supercharged engine, which produces 700Nm of torque – sufficient to power the SVR from 0-60mph in 4.3 seconds (0-100km/h in just 4.5 seconds) and a top speed of 176mph (283 km/h).

Mark Turner, Commercial Director, Land Rover SV Bespoke, said: “Range Rover Sport SVR redefined Land Rover high-performance capability when it was introduced in 2014. We’ve sold more than 20,000 examples to date and demand for the SVR’s characterful mix of power, luxury and thrilling dynamics continues to grow every year. The SV Bespoke personalisation features of this Ultimate edition elevate its appeal even further.”

The craftsmanship of the SV Bespoke team is also evident inside. Specially commissioned chrome-finished SV Bespoke B-pillar badges, black anodised metal gearshift paddles and Ultimate edition illuminated treadplates enhance the recommended Ebony and Cirrus interior, which incorporates SVR-embossed lightweight Performance Seats in Windsor leather and contrasting Suedecloth.

Hannah Custance, Design Manager, SV Colour and Materials, said: “Our SV Bespoke design team is always pushing the boundaries to create stunning vehicle colours with enhanced individuality. This is the first SV Bespoke edition we’ve offered with beautifully textured and reflective glass flake paint finishes, which puts the Range Rover Sport SVR Ultimate edition at the forefront of our innovative approach to personalisation.”

The new SVR Ultimate Edition will make its public debut on the Special Vehicle Operations stand at Salon Privé, Blenheim Palace on September 1-5, following global order books opening on August 24.
