Porsche Adds 3rd E-Hybrid Variant To Its Cayenne Lineup

The Cayenne S E-Hybrid slots neatly in the middle within Porsche’s large electrified SUV lineup.

In an apparent move to expand its electrified offerings, Porsche has since launched recently the Cayenne S E-Hybrid. The third electrified variant of its large SUV, this recent addition slots neatly in between the base Cayenne E-Hybrid and the full-fat Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid.

Though while it is the middle variant within the electrified range, power from the Cayenne S E-hybrid is anything but moderate. Porsche is currently quoting that this particular trim of its large SUV to output a combined 519 PS and 750 Nm of torque, from its newly revised 3.0-litre 353 PS turbocharged V6 and 130 kW electric motor combination.

Moreover, Porsche also goes on to quote for this hybrid powertrain to be quicker than its non-electrified counterpart. The 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 in the non-hybrid Cayenne S is already capable propelling this large SUV to the 100 km/h mark from a standstill in a respectable 5.0 seconds, but this equivalent electrified variant can achieve the same feat 0.3 seconds faster.

As for the figures regarding its electrified portion meanwhile, Porsche is claiming for the Cayenne S E-Hybrid’s 25.9 kWh battery to be capable of offering up to 90 km of fully-EV driving on a full charge. A new 11 kW on-board AC charger will apparently also fully top up said batteries in less than 2.5 hours.

The Cayenne S E-Hybrid features Porsche’s dual-chamber and dual-valve air suspension as standard, which sits behind standard 20-inch alloys. Twin tailpipes in brushed stainless steel and matrix LED headlights are also standard on this particular variant, while its HD matrix alternative are available as an option. As an SUV, the Cayenne S E-Hybrid has the silver exterior package, with the couple netting a black exterior package instead.

With this being an S variant, this particular Cayenne comes with the Sport Chrono package as standard. Pedal pads in stainless steel, as well as the Diamar interior package painted in Silvershade are also to be found within the cabin. Though the feature Porsche wishes to point out most with this new arrival is the availability of a new optional passenger screen that includes in-car video functions, as well as the new air quality system offering which is designed to filter out particles and hazardous substances.

Porsche is currently accepting orders for the Cayenne S E-Hybrid in various international markets, with deliveries slated to begin by November. The SUV variant is currently retailing in North America for $99,100 (RM 465,000), while the coupe variant starts from $104,000 (RM 490,000).
