Over 90 Malaysians Have Already Ordered An MG Cyberster

Malaysia is incidentally the best-selling market for the MG Cyberster across Asia and Oceania.

While not exactly the cheapest EV around, it nevertheless seems that Malaysians have taken a liking to the MG Cyberster. Such is especially as over 90 people over here have since placed an order for this all-electric drop top, since its official local debut back in December last year. 

Incidentally too, Malaysia is actually the No.1 best-selling market for the MG Cyberster across Asia and Oceania. Though it is worth highlighting that in the fine print, it is written that Asia does not include its home market of China…

Locally, the MG Cyberster is currently offered in two distinct flavours. The range kicks off from RM 299,900 for the rear-wheel drive (RWD) variant, while the more powerful all-wheel drive (AWD) version comes in at RM 319,900.

The AWD Cyberster boasts a motor on each axle, which churn out a combined 544 PS and 725 Nm of torque. That is enough to rocket this roadster from 0–100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds, and on to a top speed of 208 km/h. Official WLTP figures peg its range at up to 446 km on a single charge.

Meanwhile, the RWD version drops the front motor and sticks with a single rear-mounted electric motor rated at 340 PS and 475 Nm. While it’s slower — doing the century sprint in 5.0 seconds and topping out at 195 km/h — the payoff comes in the form of better efficiency, with a longer WLTP range of up to 508 km.
