Mercedes-Benz Shakes Up Its Local EQE Sedan & SUV Lineup
The variant count for the locally-available normal EQE sedan and SUV are now two and three respectively.
Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has recently given its local EQE lineup a rather major overhaul, with it adding of three new variants and updating one of its trims to its existing all-electric mid-sized sedan and SUV selection.
Starting on the sedan front, there now is a new base EQE 350+ Electric Art Edition to join an updated EQE 350+ AMG Line trim (as well as the existing AMG-fied EQE 53+). And on the SUV side of things meanwhile, those exact trims from the sedan have also incidentally been newly added to the higher-riding EQE lineup, with both these single rear-motored variants to sit below the existing dual-motored EQE 500 4Matic that arrived last year.
Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+ Electric Art Line
This newly-introduced Electric Art Line is to be the new starting point into the local EQE sedan lineup, with its RM 379,888 price tag being some RM 50,000 cheaper than the RM 429,888 commanded by the newly-updated AMG Line trim.
As both AMG Line and Electric Art Line trim shares the same 350+ designation, it should come as no surprise that both variants share much the same powertrain and technical specs. New for both these trims is a 22 kW AC charger that replaces the outgoing 11 kW unit, which sees for it to now only take four and three quarter hours to get its massive 90.56 kWh battery from a 10-100% state of charge with this charging setup.
Differentiating the base Electric Art Line from the AMG Line on the outside at least are a more sensible exterior appearance due to the lack of AMG body styling package and a set of less-blingy 19-inch 5-twin-spoke alloys. Similarly on the inside meanwhile, it loses out on the sportier AMG trim bits over its sportier-styled sibling, in addition to a panoramic sunroof and the Burmester 3D surround sound system.

This particular variant has since been updated from its initial local introduction back in late 2022. Among the newly added features of note from this refresh are a panoramic sunroof, radiator grille with the Mercedes-Benz pattern, rear axle steering system with up to 10° steering angle adjustment, AIRMATIC air suspension setup and an electric charging socket flap.
As mentioned above too, the EQE 350+ AMG Line is also to now be equipped with 22 kW AC charging. All these add-ons did however bump the price of this all-electric sedan by RM 10,000 from its pre-update predecessor, with it to now retail for RM 429,888.

Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV 350+ Electric Art Line
Much like its sedan counterpart, this newly-introduced Electric Art Line trim of the EQE SUV is to now also be the new base spec for this all-electric SUV. And as the 350+ designation implies too, it does also feature the same single rear motor powertrain and 90.56 kWh battery pack as its lower riding counterpart.
As per its lower riding sibling as well, this EQE SUV does feature the new 22 kW AC and 170 kW DC charging. Due to its less aerodynamic body however, it does take 0.3 seconds longer to get from 0-100 km/h (6.7 s vs 6.4 s) than its sedan equivalent, with its quoted range falling from a maximum of 682 km in the sedan to 596 km as well.
The new Mercedes-Benz EQE 350+ SUV Electric Art Line variant sports Electric Art exterior and interior, 20-inch 5-spoke light-alloy wheels, NEOTEX/ARTICO man-made leather black/space grey upholstery, laser-cut backlit trim with Mercedes-Benz pattern, comfort suspension, and Advanced Sound System. Pricing for this entry-level mid-sized e-SUV is currently RM 398,888.
Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV 350+ AMG Line
This particular variant of EQE here in essence combines the single rear-motored powertrain of the EQE 350+ line, while bringing with it most of the sporty aesthetic add-ons from the EQE 500 4MATIC AMG Line. Among the exterior differences with this trim from its lower tier Electric Art Line are its set of 20-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels, sandwiching aluminium-look illuminated running boards with rubberised studs
The AMG Line specification also brings along with it leather upholstery on its sports seats, a head-up display, AMG floor mats, an Energising package, an Air Balance package, an Acoustic Comfort package, panoramic sunroof, AIRMATIC air suspension, rear axle steering, Burmester 3D surround sound system as well as a multi-function sports steering wheel in Nappa leather.
