Mercedes-Benz C350e PHEV Lands Locally Costing RM 338,888

This new plug-in hybrid Mercedes-Benz C-class promises up to 117 km of pure EV range.

Following on from its preview earlier in the year, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has since officially introduced the W206 iteration of its C350e Plug-in Hybrid to our shores. Locally assembled here in Pekan, this smallest PHEV within the local three-pointed star range arrives over here wearing a price tag of RM 338,888.

Among the more impressive points to note with this new C350e Plug-in Hybrid is for it to claim a WLTP-rated all-electric range of up to 117 km, which is incidentally nearly four times the pure EV driving distance capable of its direct W205 predecessor. This significant increase in zero-emissions motoring capability comes courtesy of an enlarged 25.4 kWh battery pack consisting of 96 pouch cells, that is capable of being topped up through an 11 kW power supply.

Mercedes-Benz further touts that its repositioned battery placement in the vehicle brings advantages on a day-to-day basis compared with the previous model too, with there is no longer a step in the boot and through-loading of items to now be possible with this latest iteration of C-Class PHEV. In order to allay customer concerns regarding battery issues further down the line as well, the three-pointed star marque is offering a 6-year/100,000 km warranty on its drive batteries.

Moving onto what exactly the battery powers meanwhile, the electric drive motor on the C350e Plug-in Hybrid has a rated output of 95 kW and 440 Nm of torque. This is then to be paired with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-pot making 204 hp and 320 Nm, for a combined power and torque figure of 313 hp and 550 Nm, as well as an century sprint and top speed figure of 6.1 seconds and 245 km/h respectively.

In terms of exterior aesthetics now, the C350e Plug-in Hybrid lands locally with the AMG Line spec and Night Package as standard. The former brings with it 18-inch AMG 5-spoke light alloy wheels and a Mercedes-Benz pattern grille with the star design in chrome, while the latter adds a gloss black finish to various exterior bits like the side mirrors and window surround.

Among the other exterior highlights on this C350e Plug-in Hybrid that Mercedes-Benz would like to point out include the standard inclusion of its DIGITAL LIGHT LED headlights with Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus, a panoramic sliding sunroof and puddle lights with projection of the three-pointed star. This PHEV C-class naturally also nets some fancy interior ambient lighting within, which is then to be joined by 12.3-inch LCD driver’s display and 11.9-inch central touchscreen.

The AMG Line exterior spec is further carried on within as well, with the C350e Plug-in Hybrid’s standard black Artico synthetic leather-upholstered cabin topped off by metal structure trim elements, a Nappa leather-wrapped multifunction sports steering wheel and AMG floor mats. Safety kit standard on this new C-Class includes a 360° surround view camera, Blind Spot Assist, Active Brake Assist, and GUARD 360 ° Vehicle protection.

This new C350e Plug-in Hybrid is currently offered with Mercedes-Benz’s Agility+ Plan, with there being an additional 6 times service packages and up to RM 3,800 Star Protect (Motor Insurance) support for those who finance their new three-pointed star through this scheme.  For more details, kindly click mb4.me/StepUpAgility or speak to a Finance and Insurance Executive at your nearest Mercedes-Benz Autohaus.
