GAC Motor has unveiled the 2026 Empow R at an event held at the Oman Automobile Association, introducing a performance-focused version of its Empow sports sedan to the Oman market.
The Empow R is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 265 hp. GAC states that the sedan can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds, placing the model among the more performance-oriented offerings in the brand’s lineup.
The car is also equipped with several chassis and braking components aimed at supporting its performance. These include Brembo high-performance brakes and a multi-link rear suspension setup.
Inside, the Empow R comes with sports seats and a fully customisable digital instrument cluster. The digital cluster allows the information displayed to be adjusted according to the driver’s preferences.
The sedan also features a 360-degree surround-view camera system, which provides a view around the vehicle when manoeuvring.
