Fuel Pump Display For BUDI 95 Will Be The Actual Price Before Subsidy
BUDI 95 fuel pump display will show the selling price before your RM1.99 subsidy

We have been reading on social media some Malaysians panicking when they use BUDI95 subsidised RM1.99 to fuel up, the petrol pump screen shows a higher RM2.60 price.
Well, here is why?
Under the BUDI95 subsidy program in Malaysia, the petrol pump display will initially show the unsubsidised price for RON95, which is currently RM2.60 per liter. Even if you are an eligible Malaysian citizen entitled to the subsidised rate of RM1.99 per liter, this full price will still be displayed on the pump.
The subsidy is applied after the transaction is processed, and the final, subsidised amount of RM1.99 per liter will be reflected on the receipt. Therefore, it is important to check the receipt for the actual amount charged and not be concerned by the higher price shown on the pump during refuelling.
We went to fuel up our scooter with RM5.00 worth of BUDI95 fuel and the pump screen showed RM6.53 worth of fuel pumped, but we paid RM5.00 only.
This is how the system works and shows Malaysians the amount of money they are saving every time they use BUDI95. We just saved RM1.53 here.
So, the BUDI95 programme displays a higher, unsubsidised price on the petrol pump screen because the subsidy is applied after payment and reflected on the receipt, not at the point of sale.
To get the correct subsidised price, continue fuelling, and always check your receipt for a breakdown of the subsidised versus unsubsidised amount.
You can pay at the pump with a MyKad and card, or at the counter with cash, card, or e-wallet by first verifying your eligibility.
Understanding The BUDI95 Display
Unsubsidised Price: The petrol pump will always show the unsubsidised market price (currently around RM2.60 per litre).
Subsidy on Receipt: The BUDI95 subsidy is applied after you pay and is detailed on the final receipt, showing the subsidised amount and the difference from the unsubsidised price.
How To Refuel With BUDI95
You can refuel in a few ways, ensuring your MyKad is verified for eligibility:
At the Pump (Card): Insert your MyKad and tap your card at the payment terminal. Start fuelling. Check your receipt for the subsidy breakdown.
At the Counter (Cash or Card): Present your MyKad to the cashier to check your eligibility. State the amount you want and the pump number. Pay, and the staff will process the subsidy.
With an E-Wallet (Setel, TNG eWallet): Open your e-wallet app and navigate to the BUDI95 function. Select the petrol station, enter the pump number and amount. Show the QR code at the counter.
What to Do if You’re Confused. Don’t Stop: If you’re preset an amount and the pump shows a higher price, continue fuelling until it stops automatically. Check Your Receipt: The receipt is the definitive proof of your subsidy.
Seek Assistance: Ask the petrol station staff for help if you have questions or need clarification.
Monitor Your Quota: Use the BUDI95 portal or your e-wallet to check your monthly quota and transaction history.
