Chery Malaysia Delivers 1753 Vehicles Just In August 2025
This number is just Chery vehicles like the Tiggo range of SUV’s and the outgoing OMODA 5 and OMODA E5 electric SUV
Chery Malaysia just had its best ever month of sales with 1753 units sold in August 2025. Right now, 1753 units might not sound like a lot when compared to Chery’s main rival in Malaysia, which is Proton.
Chery Holding Group Co Ltd announced in February this year that it is investing RM2.2 billion to establish the Chery Smart Auto Industrial Park at Beringin High-Tech Auto Valley.
The Chery Smart Auto Industrial Park anchors the first phase development of the 800-acre Beringin HTA Valley ecosystem, bringing world-class automotive manufacturing and cutting-edge technologies to Hulu Selangor. Spanning 200-acres, the development of Chery Smart Auto Industrial Park aligns with the Beringin HTA Valley’s phased vision of building integrated township that can attract talent, investment, and innovation, bringing world-class automotive manufacturing and cutting-edge technologies to Hulu Selangor.
Target for completion in 2026, the Chery Smart Auto Industrial Park is projected to have an initial production capacity of 100,000 vehicles per annum, scalable to 300,000 vehicles per annum. The CherySmart Auto Industrial Park will be developed at an investment and contribution of RM2.2 billion over a period of 5-years.
The remaining land area will be allocated for other developments that supports the vision of building a leading hub for automotive innovation, supply chain, vocational training, and technological advancement in the region.
Meanwhile, Chery earlier built an assembly plant in Shah Alam to assemble the popular Jaecoo J7 SUV and this was the first local assembly facility (CKD) for Chery in the ASEAN region for the premium SUV sub-brand, Jaecoo.
The establishment of this Jaecoo facility underscores the brand’s long-term commitment to Malaysia, fostering local employment opportunities and more.
The J7 factory’s proximity to Port Klang, the country’s busiest port and the second-largest in Southeast Asia, helps the automaker access ASEAN region exports in the future.
Chery also operates another facility in Kulim, Kedah, where it assembles the Chery Omoda 5 and Tiggo 8 Pro SUV models.
