Chery International Launches A New Brand Called LEPAS
Chery LEPAS Is A NEW Sub-Brand And Why Do They Need Another Sub-Brand

Positioned as a strategic pillar in Chery’s global expansion, LEPAS embodies the brand’s vision of “elegant mobility” aiming to transform the future of transportation through a fusion of cutting-edge intelligent technology and refined aesthetic design.
As part of Chery’s broader goal of “elevated positioning, enhanced value, and sustained market growth,” LEPAS is set to play a central role in the company’s next phase of global development.
Zhang Guibing, President of Chery International, announced that LEPAS will introduce five models over the next three years, beginning with the L8, a segment-defining SUV slated for launch in December 2025.
This will be followed by the L6, an urban model designed for metropolitan elites, and the L4, a stylish vehicle created with fashion-forward drivers in mind. To support its ambitious goals, LEPAS is targeting the establishment of 1,200 global sales outlets and aims to reach annual production and sales of 500,000 units, creating exciting new growth opportunities for global partners.
Chery LEPAS L8: Merging Power and Elegance In Motion
The LEPAS L8 which was the centrepiece of the launch highlights the brand’s design and engineering philosophy. Drawing inspiration from the sleek, muscular form of a sprinting leopard, the L8 combines dynamic lines with a minimalist mechanical aesthetic. Signature vertical-pupil headlights and an intuitive interactive cockpit reflect the harmonious balance between raw performance and refined elegance.
Built on four key pillars which are
- Leopard Aesthetic Design,
- Luxurious Space,
- Intelligent Safety, and
- Chery Super Hybrid technology
The LEPAS L8 leverages Chery’s global R&D strengths to deliver next-generation mobility. From its intelligent driving systems to safety features and environmental adaptability, the L8 addresses the growing demand for vehicles that seamlessly integrate advanced technology with emotional design.
Take note that production of the LEPAS range will be probably be at Chery’s soon to be ready production hub in Selangor. This upcoming Chery facility is apparently capable of churning out up to 300,000 cars annually at full capacity.
Investment and contributions for the project’s development are currently valued at RM 2.2 billion, over a five-year period.
Earmarked to span an area of 200 acres, the Chinese automaker’s upcoming facility will be accounting for a quarter of the total land area within this new industrial complex. The remaining land within Beringin HTA Valley meanwhile is set to be allocated for complementary developments supporting automotive innovation, supply chain operations, vocational training, and technological advancement.
