iCAUR Launch In Malaysia In May 2025

Chery to launch iCAUR range of Crossovers this May 2025

iCar is a Chinese electric vehicle (EV) brand owned by Chery Automobile. It was established in 2023 and is focused on developing and selling EVs and range-extended electric vehicles (REEVs).

The brand is set to launch in Malaysia in May 2025, but here is the best part …… it will be known as iCAUR in Malaysia. It will be rebranded as iCAUR for international markets and also Malaysia because of trademark issues with the iCAR brand name.

iCar specializes in EVs and REEVs, indicating a strong commitment to electric mobility.

iCaur is expanding into over 100 countries in the next three years, with plans to establish over 2,000 sales and service centers worldwide.

The iCar brand launched its first vehicle, the iCar 03, in February 2024. They are also developing other models, including the V23, which was first revealed in China.

So, it has been suggested that Malaysian launched version will be available with either a 50.63kWh, 65.69 or 69.77kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, which offers between 401km and 501km of range on the CLTC cycle.

In China, it is offered with a choice of 220Nm single-motor or 385Nm dual-motor powertrains which means similar powertrains to other Chery vehicles.

The iCar 03 model was followed last year by the V23, which measures 4220mm long, 1915mm wide and 1845mm tall on a 2735mm wheelbase. That makes it larger than a Suzuki Jimny 5 door which sells for almost RM200k, but smaller than Chery’s popular Omoda SUV.

The iCAUR brand is scheduled to debut in Malaysia at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025 in MEAPS in May 2025.
