The GWM Ora Good Cat currently retails locally from RM 113,800 for the base-spec 400 Pro.
To those looking at procuring an oh-so-cutesy Ora Good Cat for themselves, this month of October may just be the best time to do so. Such is as Great Wall Motor (GWM) Malaysia is excited to announce a month-long promotional campaign that bundles in a whole lot of extra goodies with the new purchase of one of these EVs.
The aforementioned October promotional bundle includes the following items:
- A free wall box for convenient charging at home
- A free wall box installation service, ensuring a hassle-free setup
- Five years of free service inclusive of parts and labours, providing peace of mind
- Free vehicle insurance for the first year, protecting your investment
Cui Anqi, Managing Director of GWM Malaysia, stated of this promotional campaign, “This promotional campaign is designed to add excitement for those considering the switch to electric vehicles. We believe that by offering these valuable benefits, we can make the transition to EVs not only appealing but also practical. Our commitment to sustainability goes beyond just providing electric vehicles, but it encompasses enhancing the overall ownership experience for our customers.”
Initially launched back in late 2022, the Ora Good Cat is currently available in two variants locally: the 400 Pro and 500 Ultra. Following a price drop earlier this year, the 400 Pro and 500 Ultra are right now retailing for RM 113,800 and RM 143,800 respectively.
With a 47.788 kWh battery, the 400 Pro can travel up to 400 km on an NEDC-rated range, while the 500 Ultra has a larger 63.139 kWh battery that allows up to 500 km on a single charge. Both variants are powered by a single front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor that outputs a 143 horsepower and produce 210 Nm of torque, which in turn can scoot this cutesy EV from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and on its way to a top speed of 152 km/h.
Six vibrant exterior colours are currently available with the Ora Good Cat, to which GWM Malaysia claims to make it a bold fashion statement on the streets. Though it is worth noting here that only higher-tier of the two variants is even equipped with a barely-acceptable 60 kW DC fast charging capability, in addition to a massaging driver’s seat and an enhanced suite of active driver aides.
What more is that while on the topic of highlighting things, it should be worth a mention too that this isn’t exactly the first time GWM Malaysia has thrown in a wallbox charger in one of its many promotions it had previously ran for the Ora Good Cat. A year’s worth of insurance and five years free maintenance on an EV isn’t really all that valuable if one thinks about it for a little while more, but one can also suppose that free things are better than no free things…
