Today we have the New BMW X6 xDrive40i to the Malaysian market
In April 2020, BMW Malaysia released the X6 xDrive40i Sport for a price of RM729,800 and only a handful were sold until now.
Now, 2 years later, the X6 gets a fresh look and added features, but the selling price needs to go up a little to accommodate currency exchange and rising logistic costs. So, you might not see many on the road in coming months as the focus of Malaysian premium SUV buyers are more towards the BMW electric range (like the iX50) as they are all duty free until end of 2024.
The 2024 model BMW X6 has slim headlight units with arrow-shaped daytime driving light elements. As before, the dynamic character of the new BMW X6 is highlighted even more intently with the now standard M Sport package.
Playing a key role here is the octagonal front-end signature below the BMW kidney grille, with its striking side apertures and generous use of black surfaces. In addition, the three-dimensional sculpting of the front apron underscores the car’s width and brawny stature.
This New BMW X6 cabin features a noticeable redesign, featuring a more efficient instrument panel that complements the BMW Curved Display and a light bar that amplifies the already sleek and sophisticated ambience.
Additionally, the New BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport now includes a new 48-Volt mild hybrid technology, giving it an edge in power delivery, while reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
Striking, captivating looks.
The New BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport’s extroverted appearance is first presented by its front design, which features new three-dimensional BMW kidney grille slats with LED lighting (Iconic Glow) – illuminating the kidney grilles and offering a unique optical effect.
The new Adaptive LED headlights are also slimmer, accompanied by daytime running lights with a stylised X design that emphasises the width of the SAC. Other than that, the front apron also comes with a new triangular air intakes with vertically arranged Air Curtains.
From the side, the aerodynamic silhouette of the New BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport is characterised by a low coupé roofline and long wheelbase. This is accompanied by 22-inch M light alloy wheels 747 with staggered tyres, as well as blue M Sport brakes to further accentuate its hallmark sportiness.
As for the rear, the new sculptural taillights bring a pronounced athleticism that is underscored by new rear aprons with skid plate in Pearl Chrome. Additionally, the M Aerodynamic package is included as standard.

A fusion of elegance and digitalisation, the cockpit of the New BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport has undergone a complete update, with the BMW Curved Display being the centre of attention. With a 12.3-inch Information Display and 14.9-inch high-resolution touchscreen Control Display as standard, the advanced digitalisation and lends the cockpit an exceptionally modern appeal.
The instrument panel now has a clearer structure and is focused only on the essentials, making controls operation much more efficient. All control elements below the Central Display and the fresh-air vents are integrated, amplifying a sleek and sophisticated ambience. Additionally, the trim strip above the instrument panel has become wider in size, emphasising the horizontal layout while providing an elegant backdrop for the large BMW Curved Display.
Another visual highlight in the New BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport is the fundamentally redesigned centre console, which also come with a tidier layout and provides more touch-sensitive function keys. Gear changes are now performed using a rocker switch, placed optimally within the control panel in the centre console alongside the BMW Controller.
Completing the elegance of the interior are the M leather steering wheel and BMW Individual Merino leather upholstery. Comfort seats are provided for the front – electrically adjustable and equipped with active seat ventilation. As for passengers in the rear, roller sun blinds for the rear side windows are included.
Additionally, the large panoramic glass roof and the standard inclusion of light bar further enhances the premium ambience of the luxury SAC. Lastly, the interior elements are complemented by the stunning glass application of “Crafted Clarity”, which provides an added luxury appeal for the interior.
More power, superior dynamics and superb efficiency.
The New BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport features a new mild-hybrid technology. Mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission, the 48V mild-hybrid engine delivers a combined output of 381 hp and 540 Nm of torque to all four wheels, while allowing the New BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport to achieve greater fuel efficiency and lower emissions. Century sprint is achieved in just 5.4 seconds, with top speed capped at 250 km/h.
The New BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport exudes the utility of the Sports Activity Coupé segment with Adaptive M Suspension, giving drivers increased driving dynamics potential with the option of switching between Comfort and Sport driving modes. Tuned adaptive dampers that are regulated individually and efficiently through each mode further complement the sportified suspension.
Connectivity and intelligent systems for safer and more comfortable driving.
The New BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport comes standard with the BMW Live Cockpit Plus, powered by the latest BMW Operating System 8.
The system also comes with the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, which supports the driver with a wide range of functions, thus reducing the mental load and allowing for greater attention on the road. Connected Package Professional and smartphone integration further forms the foundation for extensive connectivity.
For onboard entertainment, the BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport comes equipped with the Harman Kardon Surround sound system. Meanwhile, Comfort Access with the new “BMW Digital Key” allows for greater convenience when locking and unlocking the vehicle via compatible smartphones.
As for state-of-the-art driver assistance systems, the Driving Assistant Professional and Parking Assistant Professional are available as standard for the New BMW X6. The Driving Assistant Professional is a camera and radar-based assistance system capable of Level 2 Partial Driving Automation.
As for the Parking Assistant Professional, it is a camera and ultrasound-based driver assistance with full 360-degree camera and Remote Control Parking function based on a stored manoeuvre, using a smartphone inside or outside the vehicle which enables the use of narrow parking spaces with limited space for getting into and out of the vehicle.
Parking Assistant Professional for The New BMW X6 xDrive40i M Sport also comes with added feature of Maneuver Assistant, enabling drivers to save up to 10 parking presets with the option to initiate the preferred preset via one’s smartphone.
