BMW X3 sDrive20i and xDrive30e Final Editions Launched Locally

These Final Edition BMW X3s come with a meaner-looking exterior and some long-awaited driving tech upgrades.

Following closely on from the debut of the iX3 Final Edition earlier this year, BMW Malaysia has since applied this same send-off treatment to its petrol-powered counterparts, and has recently introduced the Final Edition of its third-generation X3, before its successor debuts later this year.

Available in both sDrive20i and xDrive30e flavours, both these Final Editions have been tarted up somewhat by the introduction of M Lights Shadowline and M high-gloss Shadowline with extended contents to its existing M Sport appearance packages. The xDrive30e has even gained M Sport brake in red high-gloss, for which BMW claims ‘introduces another bold visual element’ to this particular PHEV trim of Sport Activity Vehicle (SAV).

Moving on within now, both Final Edition X3s have netted telephony with wireless charging capabilities. Though perhaps the more enticing add-on with these send-off specials is the long-awaited arrival of Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go Function on top of their existing Driving Assistant package, with the xDrive30e further gaining Head-Up Display and Parking Assistant Plus (which gives it a 360-degree surround view camera and Remote View 3D).

Under the hood of the X3 sDrive20i Final Edition remains the same B48 2.0 litre turbocharged four-cylinder as its common counterpart, that outputs a reasonable 184 PS and 300 Nm of torque. Paired with a 8-speed Steptronic automatic that sends drive to only the rear wheels, this trim of SAV gets from 0 to 100 km/h in a decent 8.2 seconds, before eventually topping out at 215 km/h.

The X3 xDrive30e Final Edition incidentally features the same 2.0-litre boosted four-pot and 8-speed automatic pairing as the aforementioned sDrive20i, but adds to it a PHEV powertrain consisting of an 50 kW electric motor and a 12 kWh lithium-ion battery. Total system output of this all-wheel drive SAV is to be rated at 252 PS and 420 Nm of torque, with BMW further quoting for it to be capable of 50 km of all-electric driving on a full charge.

Both these last-of-the-lot X3s in Malaysia are to be available with a choice of 3 exterior colours: Carbon Black, Alpine White and M Brooklyn Grey. Among the interior options for the sDrive20i Final Edition are Leather “Vernasca” in Mocha with Décor stitching or Leather “Vernasca” in Black with Décor Stitching, while the xDrive30e Final Edition is available in Leather “Vernasca” in Mocha with Décor stitching or Leather “Vernasca” in Black with Blue stitching.

BMW Malaysia is currently asking RM 338,500 for the X3 sDrive20i Final Edition, or RM 311,800 without the 5-year factory warranty and service package. The xDrive30e Final Edition meanwhile is retailing for RM 384,500 with, and RM 357,800 without the aforementioned half-decade aftersales plan.

For those seeking financing offers, BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia’s Easy Drive Financing Plan sees for the X3 sDrive20i Final Edition and xDrive30e Final Edition to be yours with a monthly instalment plan starting from RM 3,909 and RM 4,577 respectively (based on 5-year Easy Drive plan with a mileage of 100,000 km at 80% loan amount). Additionally, customers can also benefit from RM 4,000 onwards Easy Drive Cash Rebate upon registering for the Easy Drive Financing.

With the Straight-Line Financing Plan on the other hand from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia, the X3 sDrive20i and xDrive30e Final Editions can be owned with a monthly instalment plan starting from RM3,486 and RM4,000 respectively (based on estimates of 80% loan amount on a 7-year tenure).

These Final Edition X3s will be available at all authorised BMW dealerships from June 7th 2024, alongside the 218i Gran Coupe Final Edition. These three cars will also be on display at the Auto Bavaria AutoFest 2024 taking place at KL Base from this weekend of June 7th to 9th 2024, 9.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m.
